Hey everyone. I couldnt find the guidelines to follow in the stickies above so im gonna give it my best shot. If you need anything let me know.

SOIL.

Fox Farm Ocean Forest
30% Perlite

strain: greencrack
nutrients: 1/4 doseage FloraNova Grow
water: last 2 waterings were R.O, first couple were TAP.
ph: 6.3-6.5

The problem started from the bottom up. I thought it was a sign of lack of nitrogen so I gave them some nitrogen. Then the veins on the leafs started to get brown and rust.

It started on one plant but now its on about 10 of them.

They've been used to FFOF for quite some time, so I dont think it is over-feeding with the nitrogen as I went really light.

I kind of came to the conclusion the high PH of my tap made them lock some stuff out, but the effects are coming about a week after my last tap water use.

Sorry for lack of information if there is anything you need please ask.

pic1 is a picture from the top. looks healthy and no real signs of overfeeding

pic2 you can see some of the problems in the fan leaves

pic3 i forget what i uploaded lol

pic4 is a different strain with similar issues. just another picture for reference.

EDIT:
SOIL:

How long has this problem been going on? 3 days
What STRAIN are you growing? greencrack
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) clone
What is the age of your plants? 3 weeks
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? same time
How Tall are the plants? 8 inches tall
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? veg
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) sog
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) 2 gallon bags & 3 gallon pots
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) 30% perlite
What Nutrient's are you using? floranova grow
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* floranova grow 1/4 strength
How often are you feeding? only once so far
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? no clue
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? 6.5
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? strips & drops
How often are you watering? once every 3-4 days
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? last night. - very rarely
What size bulb are you using? 400w mh

Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? ya
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? neither
Is your water HARD or SOFT? reverse osmosis. was using tap water which is HARD
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? RO and Tap. Started using RO 2 waterings ago, (first feeding) but tap before then. I noticed the problems while still using tap.
Are you using water from a water softener?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
Are plant's infected with pest's?

Raise your ph to about 6.8 for soil growing. If you are using RO water you need CalMag....or even if the ppms are low in your tap water or the minerals your water contains are not the ones that you want.

good luck

thank you. im gonna try to lift my pH a little bit and will indeed get cal-mag.

Thank you for the tips.

Would it be ok to introduce these into flower while going through some problems?

Best to ease stress when turning to blooming but not always possible. At least wait until you get ahold of some CalMag.

good luck; happy growing.

My tap water is so high that I never do anything to raise my pH. I put a bit of Drip Clean in, which puts it at 6.5 and I don't touch it. I definitely agree about calmag, especially with RO. I have been using General Organics (GH's new line) Calmag+ which works well. pH. calcium and magnesium issues become less apparent when you lime FFOF in advance. If they had done that or told me to do that, I'd probably still be using them.

Ocean forest has enough nutrients for about 2-3 weeks, at which point you will observe yellowing (there is quite a bit of wood in it, which absorbs the nitrogen), which you did, which you solve by feeding, which you did. However, using RO water, you don't have any cal-mag, and in ocean forest, which is not pH stable, your runoff is likely either much higher or much lower than you expect it to be (mine was at 5 when I realized I had a problem).

Floranova has cal-mag in it, so you probably don't need extra. Focus on the pH first, and then worry about correcting deficiencies. The surest way to lock out nutrients is to correct a deficiency that is not actually there, because as soon as the pH gets fixed, the nutrient you were adding becomes available, plus the extra creates toxicity and lockout. Leach the soil with pH water, and for the last container you leach, use your 1/4 nutrient solution, and make sure you watch your runoff because it's not always stable. The nice thing about soil is that you can fix almost every nutrient problem in exactly the same way - leach the soil and feed it lightly.

thanks for the awesome responses.

im gonna go fill up 8 gallons of RO water with some CAL MAG and give her hell.

I really wanna flower today, too.
