I seem to recall you mentioning, by all accounts, your troubled strangled youth growing up on the hard streets in the bowels of New Orleans in other threads. I am sure given your vantage point you have garnered a skewed preception of the realities of the drug war. I am most fortunate to not have seen the gruesome details from within. This benifit allows me the luxury of a view of life they don't make documenturies about.

I am however confused why you would foster the abuse of what is arguably a manufactured poison given your close proximity to the ravages of chemical dependance all about you.

I will further capitulate that Mj should not be on the list of harmful drugs anymore then alcohol, tobacco.

However to do nothing about spiralling drug abuse in this country is complacent and appathetic.

And that sir is morally unacceptable and socially distructive. I have no delussions that the effectiveness of the Drug War is questionable. However thier methods (as long as they are constitutional-thats another peeve for another day) and the results achieved, thier charter is a sound and noble one. To argue that point is falacy.

As to my hypocracy, touce' motaco. I can not and will not argue that point with you.

And with no doubt, I do not think I am better then other drug users. I will say again, I was fortunate to not develope an affinity to the harder substancies. It was a three year period in my life in the mind 70's. With the exception of dabbling into cocaine and meth a time or two over the years. I have not put anything up my nose, in my arm or in my lungs that was not grown. And of course alcohol.

So, yeah, I am a hypocrit. Did I mention that there are few situations in life that are black and white - always a shade of grey.

Now try not to draw the conclusion that the path of higher education is the correct one- but rather a contrast to allowing substance abuse of this nature.
