imho, and this is just personal, I have enjoyed the taste and high of the various ssh's I have tried much more so than any c99 related strain I have tried yet. The c99 seems lacking something. I have not grown the ssh yet but have recently started a FS Grapefruit (75% c99) so I'll let you know if that changes my opinion.

c99 is a *nice* strain. its got a good, clear sativa buzz and although i havent grown it, i hear its easy to grow. ssh can be easy to grow, but she really likes to grow like a typical haze. shanti's ssh is one of the best strains of all time, imho, so not too much really compares.
i have always considered ssh to be the best haze hybrid on the market, i would call her the "holy grail" way before c99.

Picture C99 as a lightweight boxer. Someone who only comes by once every blue moon and, for his weight class, is just outstanding.
SSH is a heavywight. And not just any heavyweight, but someone who's been the champion SEVERAL times.
In their own league, they're both stars..but compare them, and SSH wins by knockout 1st round.

But another standout of C99 is her very fast flowering time which is approx a third less than SSH. I just love the high of C99, it's so UP there and quite euphoric. The taste and smell of the pineapple pheno is just superb

a third less? there are amazing ssh pheno's that are done in 9 weeks, with the longest ive seen taking about 13.
shanti still has the original parents so his beans are true f1 stock, same as the original. greenhouse lost the parents when he left and are mostly making "femmed" seeds so who knows what generation they are and what selection they are.

the best pheno ive smoked (the catpiss pheno) is DONE at 70 days. the romulator cut, which i hear is absolutely amazing, is done in 63 by all accounts i have heard. the catpiss high is still very hazey and is one of the strongest strains ive had.

i found a pheno in a pack of 17 from shanti. a buddy had to buy a second to find it, but he found two in the second, so i dont think its THAT rare. or maybe we just got lucky.

i find it interesting that you need to buy 1-2-3, maybe more packs before finding a certain pheno . and with some packs costing 150 bucks, u mite spend 450 bucks before finding the 'elusive' plant.
if u are looking for that special pheno, why not just buy 4 packs of nirvana/mandala/or any other brand of 'cheap' seeds and grow em out ... maybe u find that 'pheno' u are looking for a much more reasonable 60bucks...
