C99 vs Pineapple?

Original Brothers Grimm was the breeder of Cindy99. It was a seed from a bud of Jack Herer which has haze in it. So your getting a fruity taste and a bit of a haze high. Always a pleasure to grow. Easy, med. yielder, and 55 days it's done. Good part if you have a small grow you may not need filters because it doesn't have a typical pot smell more fruity or pineapple. Most people wouldn't even know your growing indoors 
I like it as a mood elevator and is good meds for depression and energy. I think actually the rotten fruit smell buds were the best. IMO I would never let the trics get amber to get that up high you want.

Awesome, thanks! Exactly what I was looking for - though it didn't really make the decision any easier. Then again, since F1s are available and BX1's don't seem to be, I guess the decision has kind of been made for me!

Great info - thanks a lot for sharing. That's super interesting about the tric color - something I wouldn't really have considered. And yeah, the mood elevation is exactly what I loved about those "Pineapple" I found at my local shops a while back!

Well, it took me most of the night but I finally tracked down some Mosca C99 BX-1 seeds online. Should have them within a week! Very very psyched!!

it's funny every couple of years the C-99 craze starts up again....I think it's cause all newbies want it due to its sativa qualities and short flowering time...And of course its fruity flavour...but as DC Denali said...guys come on this strain is as storied as Kush...
There are a few killer C-99 pheno's and can be found in f3's....and the one thing i love about cindy is she is great in crosses

ill weight in on this. There is a cut called Pineapple, and then there is Pineapple Express. The origional pineapple express was made by the kush brothers and given out at hemp fest right, before the movie came out, to ed rosenthall, breeder steve of spice of life and countless other people. Then the day the movie was released the remaining seeds were sent into an auction sight. Youtube Kush Bros Pineapple express and youll find a few test grows. The lineage of PE is Bubblegum mango x evil pineapple. Theres a cut in oregon simply called pineapple that will put out 2 lbs a light when you dial her in. There are many imitators, like g13 labs, but there is only one origional pineapple express.
PS: I still have 30 of the origional seeds and am planning on bringin her back to you guys

Well just to let you know where I'm coming from personally, I'm going to be growing for the very first time and don't know a damn thing about cannabis genetics, past present or future. The only knowledge I'm coming in with is what strains I have personally enjoyed as a consumer.
So when I asked originally about C99 vs Pineapple, the reason is simply that the strain I knew as "Pineapple" was one of my very favorite strains ever, and I was trying to find out what I should be looking for if I want to have that in my garden.
When somebody told me that Pineapple was likely Cinderella 99, I had never even heard of it because I had never seen than name on a menu, and the first time I learned that there were Bros named Grimm other than the famous fairy tale writers was a few days ago when I started reading C99 seed descriptions based on tips in this thread.
So, I guess it's weird to me that people get all "Do your homework, son!" when I feel like that's exactly what i'm trying to do by posting this thread. You gotta start somewhere even if you don't know where to start, right?

id like to actually find out what the hell G13 Labs Pineapple Express Really is.. i got a pack gifted to me a while back.. and i popped 2.. both 2 came out pretty similar.. and both were covered in trichs. great smell.. id like to know if its a C99 cross.. or what.. but they will never let us know kuz THEY PROBABLY DONT KNOW HAHA just make a name and SELL.. i hate this shit.. i promise if i ever become a big breeder.. ill LABEL MY SHIT for what it is..

I've been growing pineapple express (g13 labs) for a year now wondering the same thing. I recently got something called madness, I was told, was a c99 cross and the bud and plant structure are identical to the pe. I know this isn't really solid info, but that's what I've got.

I too believe its just a re-branded c99 or c99 cross put out to make $ when the movie was released

Having sampled pineapple express grown by a friend, I can say it was nothing like C99 and had no pineapple flavors at all. Not the worst, but definitely a bit disappointing.

the point i was making, without referencing any specific sites, is that I also found this info about another ERSB based strain called "Pineapple" from Female Seeds.
A phenotype F2 of the ERSB indica pineapple,that was inbred and feminised,is fast with a short structure,buds smells like pineapple fuel and looks like the fruit,with a great exotic punch,a real flavorfull indica buzz
I'd be surprised if the Pineapple I had was indica-dom, but the smoke reports sounds pretty right on. Ed Rosenthal Super Bud sounds phenomenal, but those seed prices! Not saying it's not worth it, but I think I'll hunt down some flowers first.

My pe plant looks decent, but nothing like your photo; way different. leaves, buds, everything. like I said, a relabeled strain meant to ride the coat tails of a blockbuster. Stolen picture, probably stolen genetics as well. What I have does smell pineappleish in flower. not so much dried and cured.
can you show a picture of yours ,
ohh and its not unsual for them to smell different once dry ,
some things will depend on how you dry also ...
