I was just talking to another grower from ICmag and he said the C.A.P. Gen1 generators can be switched out , although you have to buy replacement burners for it they're only 30 bucks a piece , not too mention its a cheaper initial investment as well for the Gen1 ...

And Just so i'm confident on this , seeing as i'm a rookie and all , the IGS Plug n Grow 061 CO2 controller will Turn ON the C02 burners if the levels drop too low and it will also Turn OFF at set level and temp level ?? Does it also run on a timer too ... The description on BG is pretty vague besides the temp shut off ...

That is pretty shiesty of them...sounds like another company that doesn't care about it's customers to me.

I have a Gen1 in my setup...it comes with 1 burner, but you can add burners to reduce the burn times if needed. If you get an extra burner or two, make sure you get the ones matched to your gas supply. The natural gas ones are stamped NG - the propane ones are unstamped.

The controller will kick on the burner when the low set point is reached in the room and it'll remain on until it hits the upper set point. No timers at all...just CO2 on demand and only as needed.

I have run the CAP PPM-3 for a couple years now with not a single problem. I bought the unit for $350. I see no reason to spend more on a monitor. High temp shutoff is nice, but I don't think it is worth $200. You could easily DIY that with a thermostat for cheap. You wouldn't need to do that though if you had all your cooling in check.

I use the Green Air CD-12 generator in a 10x20 sealed room and have been very happy with it. You can get them for a pretty good price on ebay.

Spray foam is your friend to seal the cracks around the air conditioner.

Just a quick question on the topic at hand...
Suppose you had air-cooled lights so you're getting rid of most of the heat, and a dehumidifier,
Can you use bottled CO2 without an AC? Or will the room eventually become too hot without AC?
I reason i say bottled CO2 instead of a burner is because i could see a burner heating the room up too much while the bottled CO2 shouldn't raise the air temp.
In case you haven't realised i have no experience using AC or CO2 in a growing enviroment so all opinions and pointers like this thread are helpful.

It is unlikely that you could run a sealed room without an air conditioner. You could run a room with a temp/humidity controller and an exaust. The exaust would come on at a set temperature/humidity and exaust the room until it cools. Green air makes the CD-DH-3P which is designed to work with CO2 equipment. It isn't the most accurate thing out there, but it does the trick.

If you can, go with a sealed room over a room with an exaust.
