Buying seeds for the very first time

i been using clone vendors in Los Angeles for about 4 years now. But more often then not I started getting mixed or wrong strains from vendors all over town.
I want to go back to the source and start with the seeds and just keep cutting....
since I never purchased seeds before, I have tons of questions.
Do I need a P.O. Box?
Where do I buy from?
How do I pay?
Etc..
if anyone can find a time out of their schedule and feel me in on best practices.

The main rule has always been - NEVER have seeds sent to the place where they are going to be grown. Some use friends to intercept, others P.O. Boxes and the rest just don't worry, or care due their state either having regulated weed disguised as legal, or a medical act. This gives some people peace of mind even though it is a federal offense from my understanding..

Long ago we had to order from abroad and this just made odds worse due to customs and random inspection of packages. In this day and age you can order from many online seedbanks and suppliers here in the states and Canada. Many seedbanks overseas won't ship oversees and the same thing with some here in the states and Canada..

I won't reference anyone in particular, even though others just might as it often comes across as advertising or promotion - I have no loyalties to anything or anyone. Good luck with the quest..

The clone scene in LA is a mess unless you know exactly who is providing what. Even the major licensed clubs offer crap.

Many CA residents order straight to home now. Used a P.O. box back in the day, so also an option.

Seedmans is my preferred vendor, and their breeder directory is pretty impressive.

if you have time to plan, I recommend setting up a bitcoin account through one of the major exchanges and then move it to a digital wallet. Many of the online vendors offer deep discounts for bitcoin.

If you dont want to deal with all that, use your CC after contacting the bank and authorizing overseas purchases.

If you also dont want to deal with that, find a vendor you trust and send cash, money order, shoe strings, or whatever.

There are US based online vendors but theyre mostly junk or very limited in options.

yeah if your region is heavily prohibition. I've had seeds confiscated once or twice like 5/7 orders came through no biggie except sometimes they'll tape the package with stickers saying it were opened its contraband has been confiscated by authorities, T shirt no seeds.

US based banks are numerous now and better than seedsman. Jbc or greatlakes genetics or dc seed exchange and there’s more. I recommend bohdi,karma,relentless duke diamond and useful seeds you can’t go wrong with anything from them. Peace sdd420

like peace pipe said, a lot of people dont like to have seeds sent directly to an address that can be traced easily back to them
/i have seeds sent to a friend i trust
even then customs might intercept your seeds
ive had friends receive the "letter" in the past but most of the time you will get a mangled package and no hassle
/the customs letter basically says they intercepted your package and you are welcome to call if you want
like sdd420 says, using a domestic vendor helps with this
as far as who to buy from goes, it depends on what you are looking for
there are several top quality vendors here in IC' who offer the latest gear in both feminized and auto variety
i would go with them, they are guys who stand behind their product and can also be reached easily through the forum in case you have any questions or problems

If you live in California then there is no worry. Take a look at HoliMoli.com. I have ordered twice from them. They come in a discreet package with no bs. David is always friendly on the phone. I can recommend the bubblegum without hesitation. One of the best smoking strains I have EVER encountered. Oh, as for the wait, you should have your seeds in 3 days. They are coming all the way from Barstow.

I've had good luck with great lakes genetics and attitude seed bank.
both came well concealed. Attitude always comes from a different city packed in a gift. they guarantee shipment if you pay a little more shipping. both give good freebies. I got a keeper from the bad dawg freebies glg sent.

You are in cali I take it. I live in cali and have ordered I guess 40 or so times? Banks in UK, US, Holland etc. Only had customs nab my package once and no cops followed up. Bank resent the seeds anyways and I got them.

Too many banks to list and most everyone treated me great. Do not forget Real Gorilla Seeds here to help out the cause or if you see something there that tempts you. I order to my address and never worried about it. If I was in say Kentucky, then the address would have to be 'safe'.

Great Lakes has been my go to, I live in the US and don't want to have to deal with customs. I have also used Ace a couple times without issues, for whatever reason no US breeder has as good a selection of tropical sativas. I wish they had a US distributor.

I used The Cali Connection website twice in the last 12 months. I even used my visa card without a problem. Find what you want. If you have trouble finalizing the purchase, use the contact link and they will email you an invoice to finalize the order.
I went a different way and ordered regular seeds and pollinated a female and made a bunch of seeds for the future. I used clones for 10 years and switched to seeds because they seem to be more healthy and grow with more vigor.

By the way, I grew out the Chem 91 Sk Va. and the Chem Valley Kush. and some freebies I don't remember the name. All rock solid no regrets.
