Business License to vend 'erb to a dispensary?

HI ICMAG!

I recently talked to a dispensary in my non-Cali med state and they said they require a state business license in order to trade.

Is this wierd? Would you skip attempting to deal with this dispensary? Would any business license do? Do people officially license their grows? Am I losing my mind?

Like could I get a business license for Woolybear's VCR Repair and sell them weed smoke under that? Or do they expect a business License Woolybear's Marijuana Smoke Nursery. I would rather stay under the radar.

On another note, would dispensaries in my non-"C" med state (read: not cali or colo) be interested in smaller amounts, say under a qp, or do they deal with minimums?

Preceding question can probably be answered by the weed sellers. Frak

I'd move right on along. A business license is simply a paper trail back to you. No matter how many LLCs, subsidiaries etc. it goes through, it can be traced back to you with enough time, effort and resources. Not the best spot to be in should the tax man come a callin'.

Thanks for the response, that's what I was thinking. Getting a business license just to sell a federally illegal product is a bad idea.

Good point about the tax man as well.

Thanks for the info. I've been figuring what/how to grow, maybe I'll trade my extra 'erb on craigslist :) Or not, cl is full of 'i got robbed' posts. Maybe I'll put in my ad - NO HOOPTIE DRIVERS - NO ROLLERS WIT 3 HOMIES.

So next step would be to put together at least one pack. I THINK I can do that if I do a run of my uk cheese x sssch I got of the seedbay server fund auction. Smells like anise and berries + cheesecake and put me to sleep a couple of times. Rock-hard nugs, easier to trim than my grandoggies. Plus I got 35 grams off of one tree in a 2/gallon pot. Math time:

1 pack = 16 zips
16 zips = 448 grams

1 plant = 30 grams

448/30 = 15 plants for one pack. Only issue is that my mom is still revegging. Its pretty darn close to being in veg but still has single-bladed leafs.

Thanks IC MAG you rock.

1lb = 453.592 grms, however if you are putting a pack together it is better practice to include 460 grms. Sure throwing in an extra 6.418 is going above and beyond, but people who buy a pack will appreciate it, and when the pack is turned over after they sample a nug or two it still weighs more than 453.592grms.

Anyone selling packs at 448grms is just asking to have people bitch about the pack being light.

I do the same thing....460-465 is a very safe way....and there is never any bitching....and belive me....if its 448 they are going to bitch....as loud as they can.....once had a dispensary donate for a unit.....had 10 gram jar sample they approved, tested, tasted, and were holding in their hand when they weighed the unit and it came up at 450....and they began to bitch....then I reminded them of the 10 gram sample they were holding in the jar......
they just said ok....no appologies...no nothing......in my opinion most dispensaries are just thugs with a storefront.

If you know the folks you are dealing with, "packs, units, p's...what ever ya want to call them are not to bad...but when dealing on CL or BT, its best to keep to the smaller amounts to make sure one is fairly safe...still gotta do the due diligence and verify all...and most of all go with your gut instinct, if it feels unsafe chance are its unsafe...

Also not saying you are, but if you are somewhat desperate for funds, the bad folks will smell it a mile away...

A lot of this depends on the state laws where you reside...best of luck to ya

well said . i agree 100 percent . i always tell folks well it aint coke. adding the few extra dont cost ya much and is good buisness

Also depends which state you reside

How "legal" the whole industry is set-up depends how much exposure is necessary, at least dealing on disp front.

I see you have quite a few posts on IC....but your plan could be flawed a tiny bit......hopefully your not in Cali....they are closing dispensary's right and left....and the model of growing and supplying them is really on the downward trend.......I know what
your thinking....it should be easy.....trust me....it's not....is it possible...of course....but far from easy....Good luck.

Yet an email was just sent out by Steve Kubby stating there are over 1,000 dispensaries remaining in the greater LA area and they're experiencing a bit of a product drought.

LA spots are still open and the bay...well the bay is the bay.

As long as you got bag appeal and some aroma, your golden. Mind you, that is how it is in Cali. Your state may differ.
