I would try some damp paper towels in a plastic bag, maybe wrapped in foil and placed somewhere warm. I use my dsl router. I usually soak for 24 hours in distilled water but they dont always crack, afterwards i do the afore mentioned and within 48 hours i have tap roots.
First off, hopefully you haven't thrown them out in disgust yet.Be careful about jumping the gun during germ.(sometimes it just takes longer than what you think it will),remember these are living things you're cultivating here. I have had this problem as well, what you need to do is soak them in the ro water for 24 hours , then put them into a wet paper towel and slide them into a Zippie ,puff up the zippie with a couple of breaths and seal it then put it somewhere warm(like top of a frige or on a heat pad set on medium), if you choose to go the heat pad way , make sure you watch them as they can and will dry out which will dry out the tender tap root, in effect killing the seed.
To be honest I used to only soak my seeds in RO water, however my germ rates began to fall, now I use the paper towel method and my rates arew rising again good luck.
yeah the burmese took about 72 hours to really get the taps out.. i had mine in a shotglass for a day.. nothing.. still floating.. so i changed the water.. gave em a lil tap on the top and down they sunk.. left em another 24.. took em out put em in moist paper towels and in unsealed ziplocks.. threw em on top of my computer monitor.. 24 hours later there were nice taproots.
don't fret if seeds don't pop in 24 man.. sometimes they can take like a week from what i've seen.. so even if all of mine don't crack after my 72 hour routine.. i still put them all in rapid rooters or into soil or wherever..
i use a piece of 100 grit sandpaper wrapped around the inside of a pill bottle or a film canister and give the seeds a good shake to scuff the outer surface. then onto a wet folded paper towel on a small plate in a ziplock. i use the cabinet above the fridge, nice and warm and dark in there. whe they pop they go into a jiffy pellet. works for me and been doin it like that for a long time now.
for what it is worth, i have always had problems getting Bermese seeds to sprout. No matter what i did, they would have troubles. I didnt buy them either, i made them and had hundreds to pick from. After crossing with the Bermese and working with them for a while i came to the conclusion that the Bermese had a lower sow rate, compared to all the other different types of breeds i had been toying with. put it this way, if i was looking to buy 10 seeds online, and picked a Bermese type strain, i would order 50 seeds due to my experience with them. Thats my 2cents.
Be well, stay safe,,
