SUp aj, good to see another cali medical patient.

can u post back with those hydro sites please..

also thebigtomato.com is having a special this month, spend over $400 and you get 25% off

crazy deals bro

Also, any suggestions on dispensaries around frisco?

i will need to get some meds next time i am up there and i always find myself going to purple heart

i'd like to try somewhere new

Lastly, Can you guys enlighten me on the nextgen 600/400

is this some type of dual ballast?

im planning a grow with 600hps/400 super blue MH

that ballast sounds perfect for me.. seems like it would save me $150 compared to buying two lumateks, which is what ive been planning on

does it support both mh and hps?

thanks much:woohoo:

whats crackin bro. yea sure thing on the sites, i've found these two to be the cheapest for me..
www.discount-hydro.com
www.plantlightinghydroponics.com

The one and only dispensary I hit up in the city is Grass Roots, been going there for 2 years (had card at 17) over on Post Street, check it out, you'll be glad you went there. Huge menu, 10% discount (I.E $55 1/8 on menu would be $49) and they will usually hook it up with a free edible. Only place worth going to in SF. :2cents:

Regarding the Nextgen 600/400 ballast yea, you have options of running either 600 HPS or 600/400 MH bulbs. so in your case that would be perfect. 600 hps flower, 400 watts mh for veg. you can buy them on either site, on discount-hydro they incorporate a hood in the price, if you want just the ballast try plantlightinghydroponics.com

I want to run the HPS/MH simultaneously

from seed to bud

dont want to shock the plants with a new light spectrum from veg-flower

and ive heard that Super Blue MH pumps up the trichromes considerably

so this ballast is either one or the other? :wallbash:

THanks for the heads up on grassroots, i will definitely check them out

ill make another thread regarding advice on ballast, sorry for the temporary hijack

peace and pot :joint:

change of plans..

change of plans..

what up everybody. my situation has changed, however it's definitely gonna kick ass. i'm not moving into that house, BUT.. I had a talk with my old man, told him i'm trying to make some decent legitimate cash with my passion for growing (slang to cali dispensaries) once i'm dialed in, and to forever stop burning cash at them, as well to avoid working retail 3-4 years during college fuck that i wanna have some fun make some cash doing what i love doing most. :woohoo: i'm devising a very minor bizzness proposal, my pops fronting me all the cash and supplying a good location, his fat ass company warehouse, he's even kinda excited aha, he even suggested buying solar panels, but let's not get ahead of ourselves this isn't a permanent location..yet. i'll be using a 200 sq foot secret ass loft in the warehouse, built by my gramps for a spare bedroom working late ass nights):woohoo: he'll take care of the sub panel and all, and is capable of building a room however, i don't know how long i'll be posted in the bay for, probly movin down to so cal for school. so i may just consider the 9x9 growlab tent to bring to my next place, which would eliminate the addition of light movers= less yields
My apologies, i'm all wired but i'm going insane debating all this shit by myself.

The plans:
I'm running 4000 watts for a good while, with plans to expand to 6 eventually.. nextgen ballasts with the fat magnum xxxl hoods on two light movers, i'll section the room off to around 10 x 10 ft, 100 sq ft.
QUESTIONS:
1. Air cooling hoods in tent: whats more efficient? two 8 inch vortex pulling air or a 12" CAN FAN MAX with a 12" x 8" x 8" Y splitter?

2. 8 Inch vortex OR 6 inch vortex pulling through a filter and exhausting out the tent. is a 6 inch good enough?

3. Which grow method ?? I've been debating between:

a) Coco drip to waste, 24 plants. using two 5 gallon buckets stacked in one another for collecting waste..designing a PVC manifold or 3/4 hose with 1/4 lines with cage drippers.. OR would i have more success with two 4x8 table drip to waste? with coco, i would also veg 28 plants on a 3x3 flood table with pico's diy pvc drip manifold, so i can veg them out a long while to avoid downtime between harvest, then transplant to the 5 gallon buckets in flower room. i'd be using full house and garden line because i've seen good things here :)

OR

b) blazeoneup style 24 plant RDWC with 1/4 hp chiller four rows of 7, Floranova grow/bloom. nuff said. BUT i have a question, what method would be best for vegging 24 plants while the other 24 are flowering? I dont want to fuck with rockwool, i've read it's a bitch. what can i just throw in the flower rdwc net pots? I was thinking maybe a simple 18 gallon tote DWC, 6 of em crammed together, 4 plants each tote, under a 400 watt mh.. what are my options for veg?

I'm sort of intimidated by Coco with all the additives and shit, but i like the idea of less electricity running(i.e chiller, air pumps), BUT the house and garden nutes look perty expensive with long run.. :dueling: which one would probably be easier to dial in for a beginner, which has the most potential?
thanks for listening~, i need some feedback

Man hard to say. I use straight organic soil. I make my own mix from Foxfarm soils. Do what you know best . If it isnt broke dont try and fix it. If anything, do some test grows with coco. I have been seeing alot of good reviews on coco. The roots love it apperantly. Its real fluffy and airy so the roots can breathe and grow fast. The faster they root the faster and bigger they will grow. Makes for flowering sooner as well :)

I hate how it takes time for the roots to root well in soil. I know there is better ways. I just need to switch and give it a try.
