so my 5x10x7 tent isn't cutting it any longer. not enough room. so I plan on building a new 8'x12.5x6.75' room. im still up in the air over the building material. I want to make it so I can somewhat easily remove the room like taking down a tent. so that leads me to use PVC. either 3/4" or 1". the ONLY weight on the tent would be from a 25lb (guessing weight) carbon scrubber, and an 8" intake fan. my hoods get supported by the joists (3x big kahuna hoods/ 600w). also, would I wrap the panda film on the outer shell, or the inside and what to secure it with.

this will be my 1st build. im a tent guy, but finding one with those measurements is not gonna happen. a 120x120xis too big.

If it gonna stick with panda film and pvc, I would try hot glue, they have different strength glues, and it should hold well. I would also wrap that sucker twice. Most pandafilms aren't what they use to be.. lots of pinhole leaks..

Personally, I would go with 2x2s n that 2" insulation board from hd or lowes. U can screw everything together,, easier to get ur correct right angles and it will be sturdy, yet easy to tear down.. and then panda the whole outside when ur done with staples for added light leak security..

If you're going to make the from out of PVC I would go with 1" for more stability and small cost difference. Get some PVC primer and glue as well for certain connections you might want permanent.

Also pick yourself up some 3M spray glue. It comes in an aerosol can. It will work much better than hot glue on making a proper seal.

Insulation board isn't a bad idea. The more insulated the better. Drop those temperature swings and keep the girls concentrated on their job...

I grow in a basement of a building. my light son temps with 2x600 in big kahuna hoods air cooled is 73-75* consistently. heat...im not worried about. even with me adding another 600w in the mix. I run a 8k btu portable ac unit. basements temps are 73-77*, peak at 79 on those 90+ days.

after even more thinking and ease of applying the panda film or other proper reflective material, I may go with the 2x2's as suggested. cost wise would be cheaper with the 2x2's ve buying all the pvc connectors needed for the bracing of walls and ceiling. only reflective film, no backer board or insulation board.

im harvesting this sunday, so plan on having everything set and ready to build then. im already 5 days behind on my next flip (girls are getting restless cooped up in the 4x4 tent and want their new bigger home.

^^ I really like the 3m adhesive idea vs. My hot glue.. should of thought of that,, I used to laminate kitchen counters for days with the industrial version of the spray adhesive..
Good call,, a.o.m.f,, peace,, hope everything works out,, I always get stressed out when I have to revamp the lab

the 3m adhesive is an aerosol correct? that might not do so well as I have a hot water and furnace (both gas) about 15' from where I would need to spray it.

much appreciated tho.

Yeah, it's aerosol.. could always shut stuff down if your concerned with fire hazards.. I used to smoke camel non filters while spraying that shit all day.. god I miss the 80's....

ok guys, I have all my framing wood pre cut, labeled what wall sorted out. im going to be using 1/2" osb for my flooring (3x 4x8 sheets), im also using either 1/2" or 1" r-tech rigid foam board insulation for my interior walls. im not sure which would be better 1/2 or 1"? im also buying my door + frame today (60.00 at lowes). and I have a 10x100' of 6ml black contractors plastic.

I have a Q about the plastic. would it best be used to fully wrap the outer shell of the room, or use it as an inside liner, then put the foam board over top of it. this way I would screw the foam board to the studs. if I were to wrap the outer shell of the room, I would secure the foam board with glue. but im worried about creating an area where moisture could develop and cause mold or other damp issues because of the pocket of air caught between the outer plastic wrap and the foam board.

thanks again everyone.
