I need to edit and chop some pics and Ill post later, trust me they are not fancy, I grow my plants with the idea not to baby them, I grow indoors just for breeding, I do not use weak plants,or hard to grow plants in my breeding projects, and have made some pretty nice new strains..some of my best are from bagseed crosses, starting back in the early 1980's

first pic is a panal door in a track,I dont have enough room to slide it out,so Imade it so you lift up the door, and it will be higher than the bottom track and you just lift it out.

The second and third pic is the top,and shows how i block light from leaving and entering the box, where the fan is located.

The top is a loose piece of plywood with 2 holes in it for the lights chains to go through

I made a plywood floor for this box so it could sit on 5 gallon buckets ,and to keep the bottom from rotting out, its gets fresh exterior paint about every 4 years, primer first, then paint.

I have 2x2 boards going from the floor to the top in the corners, use construction adhesive and some screws.

I later added some loose fitting 2x2 boards in the bottom and layed a plastic grate from a ceiling light on top of the boards,it keeps the pots from sitting in run-off water

with some practice you can keep plants in one quart containers for about a year

this is the passive air outlet ,painted flat black on the inside, mine is backwards really, the blowing fan is at the top and the airs outlet is at the bottom, the intake and exhaust could be reversed or moved to the sides..

you can use a plain old brown box as a quick home for plants, using CFL's as the lighting,i do this some times to pollenate females,my area was cool enough not to need a fan

this next box is my misc box , all cardboard, with a 1 x2 board frame to hold the pressure of the lights at the top, took me about 40 minutes to make, its my pride and joy:biglaugh:

the plants in this box where flowered and pollenated in a plain brown box,and later where moved to this box, the "black hole" is the passive outlet

am almost ashamed to show these:pointlaug

I will post the "better boxes tommorrow...just remember things can be cheap, but dont be cheap with the safety, always use a grounded outlet, and check your new box for high temp areas a few times the first day...

This box is a complicated story, I actually removed some extra concrete blocks in a retaining wall in my dunguen that werent needed ,removed the soil with 5 gallon buckets and patched the area with hand mixed bags of concrete ,just to gain another 8" of head room for the box.

if you want differant angles of the box just ask..
This is R-board,you can paint it ,cut it with a knife or razor blade, and nearly water proof.

I cut strips of the board to make tracks for the door and other items i want, I glue on the strips, and hold them in place with a few screws tell the glue dries.

first pic is the door,it opens up the entire front of the box, which is 4.5 feet long, and about 24" deep

the second pic is with the door removed and shows the track for the door.

Instead of making the box jsy over 4 feet for the shop lights I added the extra 6" to have a place to set ice cream tubs ,that i use for making clones .

I have this fan mounted for air intake,AND in case i want to flower out a male, i will add a hepa furnace filter over the fan area to ether collect stray pollen ,or if you reverse the fan ,to stop pollen from entering the box.

I bought the filter first, then added in my cut strips to have a snug fit.I use temporary weather stripping chaulk, that peels off when your done.

The white metal actually should be higher up...it is to keep the filter from contacting the fan, and it makes the air traveling through the filter to be drawn in or out over a wider area of the filter, not just directly in the fan area

This is my main box , its 4.5' x 3.5'

it uses up to two 400 HPS and one 400MH in a glass covered vented hood and a large CFL. I have 5 fans, for this box and usually use 3 but switch them around as needed, depending on the outside temps and the # of bulbs I am using.

one small fan is on 24/0, another one comes on during the lights"ON" and both blow directly on the plants. If needed I have a 6" inline fan with a light blocker, that can be on to bring in cool air near the bottom.

I have a blower befor the box that connects to a foundation vent, sometimes it never needs to be turned on, it just depends on the outside air temps.

The main fan is a Dayton blower that sucks air through the glass covered hood, and blows exhaust air up and out a roof flue pipe.

This box is foil lined foam board painted flat whte on the inside.

The first pic is the intake duct from the foundation, I glued and nailed rubber roof material between 2 pieces of thin panaling, then i cut a hole in the rubber one inch smaller than the duct, its stops all duct noise and vibrations.

The door slides in a pice of treated wood, my floor get wet from rain :badday:

The main blower hangs from bungie cords, and sucks air from the 1200 watt hood, you can touch the glass directly under a bulb, its warm...but wouldnt burn a babies butt:smile:

the ducting is smooth 6" metal ,try to limit the curves in the pipe to a minimum.

The first piece of duct from the blower is metal flex duct about 2 feet long,it stops noise and vibration, then all the duct was covered with 8" insulated flex duct. This box is nearly silent, sometimes I wonder if its even on at all.

as a extra precaution i pull a curtain shut made from a tarp to block any lights that may have been forgotten about. :yoinks:

Thats it....except for my bean box , its in a shed and is kept warm during the night cycle by a 150 watt bulb inside a vented 4" duct

They will never win the "box of the year" contest ,but many a plant has went through them....

High&Lonesome
which box
the big plants you see in the last box are WILLY JACKS, willy's haze, I talke alitttle more about them in my signiture thread, but they where won by a friend, and gave them to me.

I really dont know how many strains I have, the mother box has(from memory)
uranium cranium(UC)--boggle--sourbubble bx3--derailed blues--B52--power plant--SCBB--ssh x ptk--UC x boggle--fruitbowl--UBC chemo--AK47--C99--blue dynamite--concussion--sourchronic--chronic x amnesia haze--2 nebula phenos-G13 x skunk--petroilia headstash--Ducksfoot--grapefruit x blueberry

those are most of the females I have several males too,the other R-board box has 3 of my old strains I had saved for up to 15 years , in a freezer, I just sprouted and sexed those, and the willys clones.

plus about a dozen strains in the seed box, crossed with a male GF X NL
