Sup Hoosier. I said to hell with the hole saw because I won't need the exhaust hole to be perfect (it will be covered with a box anyway) and I decided to not use the coolers.
Since I'll be using regular rubbermaid reservoirs which I can make with a utility blade, (already have one built as well), I'm just going to get a jigsaw to meet all my cutting needs.
Anyhow:
I should be buying the jigsaw this weekend. I was going to buy one of those Coleman cabs too, but had a question. It says it has "one fixed shelf". I realize that that usually just means that it's a shelf that can't be adjusted or moved up or down, but do you think that it also means that the shelf would be necessary for construction of the cab for some reason? Just wanting to make sure before I buy it, as I won't be wanting any shelves in there at all.
Rethinking my idea of using a darkroom louver on the side of the cab for passive intake because of the non-stealth factor involved. "What's that vent on the side of your wardrobe for?"
Now I'm thinking of making the intake(s) on the bottom. I'm thinking of cutting a hole in the floor of the cabinet and putting a register cover (grate) there for passive intake.
Thoughts?
Also, been thinking about the need for door stops and such. Will they be necessary for the weather stripping for lightproofing?
Also need to get started on building the screen. For my next grow I think I'm just going to re-use the crappy wooden one I already have...maybe lol. I still need to figure out a way to attach and reattach the screen.
My idea is to find 4 small screws and matching nuts, drilling through the base of the screen support and into the res cover, and putting the screw through the wood on top of the res, meeting the nut on the bottom of the lid to hold it tight. To unattach I'd just have to unscrew the screws from the nuts...(if any of that makes sense). My biggest issue if I use the wood will be whether or not I can get a screw long enough but thin enough to go through the small wood.
For the PVC (if I do indeed use PVC) I will have to find a way to get the screws through it to attach to the nuts at the bottom of the lid.
And one last question: Do I need anything for my light other than ballast, bulb, and air cooled reflecter? (ie do I have to also buy a mogul socket set or something?)
TIA.
I'm trying to get an idea of everything I'm going to need at this point.
It's almost GO TIME!!!
