A little more progress made today got some mudding done before work also shaved off some excess spray foam that I used to seal around the electrical receptacle before work, Tomorrow I'll have the mudding done then painting Monday. Ohhhh and a lot of my ordered items will arrive tomorrow
I don't mind the mudding so much, but the sanding..no thank you!
Looking good, you are a much better framer than myself.
Don't sand that mud with a power sander. Use a pole sander. A power sander will micro blast that dust into the air and it will be a catastrophe. If you use a slow touch with the pole sander most of the dust will fall straight to the floor without getting airborne. Wear a mask no matter what. Being competent at sheetrock is a skill everyone should aspire to. Like everything the more you do it the better you get. Good luck
I'd just rent a Porter Cable vacuum drywall sander from Ace Hardware. I think it's like $20. Makes the job real easy; I'm building a new grow room at the moment too so I feel your pain. Keep your eye on the prize!
BTW, IDK what your budget is, but I'm on the "fuck it" budget lol.. look into flame retardant paint, and flame retardant poly. I'm also looking into water leak alarms, auto fire extinguishers, hot/cold alarms. Just bought a few remote controlled outlets for watering pumps, etc., no skimping on security cams either.
Looking forward to seeing what you have planned. I'll probably kick it off with some CBD Critical Mass from CBD Crew this winter. I need some good joint weed that doesn't demolish me after a few hits. Keep up the good work!
Do you have in mind to put the irrigation automated?
water pump of an aquarium
the easiest/cheapest way to keep the dust down is to hold a shop vac under where you are sanding.... or if you are lucky enough to get someone to hold the vac for you while you sand..
If you sell the house sometime down the line, the buyer is going to take one look at your basement and think "man this bedroom would make a great grow room".
