Sweet little cactus Bug, looks like your newer grow rooms are treating you right as well. Ordered some of those cactus seeds from Thailand last week, gonna be a while before they get to a usable size.
Thailand is suspending a lot of mail shipments now, so who knows when that will show up but looking forward to their arrival

those seeds & plants grow slow, it took me almost 3 years to grow a seedling to a 22 cal slug size

I’m hoping if I can keep them relatively warm in a greenhouse they won’t take forever, still a few years from seed to get anything of size.

40 yr old sounds older for sure. Have you seen the peyote being grafted to speed up the process? Pretty simple impalement method, inverted pyramid hole in bottom of peyote, placed on pointed end of graft material.
peyote047 on IG shows it done in pics, and the peyote cactus doubles or triples in four months.

yes i had 1 grafted to a san pedro ,my buddy grafted years ago, if you speed the growth up ,it shortens the life .
