Quick update on this project - I got 100% germination (8/8) on the Jack Herer.

I wasn't expecting that many to make it so I'm going to wait until I sift through these to pop the Destroyer.

Is this the thread I should follow for updates or are you making a grow thread?

It would be interesting to see what the Destroyer from 2004 looked like.
Nice gift BTW.

I agree wholeheartedly unless you need to sharpen your grow chops first. Then I would choose an easier one, ha ha..

Yup, still have those 8 Jack Herer's rolling, about to give them their first transplant today. A couple ended up being runty / mutated, but one grew out of it pretty quickly. The other looks fine now, just waaaay smaller than the others.

i'm old so BB because u could get lucky as well as the JH u chose and Bog's Blue moonshine/Boggle like a poster said anything blue - TGA imho.

makes seeds of the jack, True Blue and B. moonshine to preserve and treasure hunt.
after that do whatever floats your boat.

BOG Blue Moon Rocks, that line sold out more consistently than any other, was insanely hard to get unless you ordered right after the seeds dropped.

It looks like I've got 6 ladies and 2 males from the 8 Jack Herer's I cracked. They're ready to flip now so today I'm working on building out a small little space in a spare room to open pollinate them.

I just read the entire thread, and I was surprised to see that as well. I popped around 100 Vanilla Kush seeds a decade ago, and the winning phenos were really special. So special, it was one of the girls that got away.

Hey...would you mind sharing your seed germination technique? What you used for the JH. I have my own seed collection and many are quite old. Looking for ideas.

Sure thing - I germed in paper towels, the only special thing I did was a pre-soak until they sunk. The pre-soak was:

Water: 100ml
Ful-Power: 0.875 ml
Nitrozyme: 0.5 ml
Plain Bleach: 0.1 drop

To get 0.1 drop of bleach I put 1 drop in 1000 ml water, then poured 900 ml down the drain.

To get .1 drop...you would use 1 drop bleach in 10 cc water. What you described is .001 drop. I know it was tongue in cheek, but

I must not've explained myself well - I put one drop of bleach in 1000 ml of water, then pour off 900 ml of that 1000ml. That leaves me with 100 ml of water with 0.1 drop of bleach in it.

Probably me not understanding. I totally agree with the bleach use also. I've had seeds get ruined by fungus which is so easily avoided.

I'm collecting peoples old seed hints since I'll be doing that soon. I have some o ld blueberry seeds . Hope I can them to crack.
