Have you guys seen the Instagram BS raging about bubba kush repos?
You cannot remake bubba since the plant called bubba is long gone
We don’t know what bubba was even though some claim it was an NL
I thin the purple one was the VIPK.
They grow and look eerily similar

WRONG. i grew the VIPK. decent but FAR FAR FAR from an actual kush strain. We used to have the purple kush around here over a decade ago and when i smoked the hyped up VIPK, I was depressed for weeks. Had my cousin smoke it and he smoked a shit load of purple kush back then and first thing he said about the VIPK is THAT AINT KUSH. Same goes for all other kush strains around here in canada like the coffee cut. What a load of shit going around now a days. The real kush is gone or hogged like a biatch.

How about the distinct Bubba flavor?

You make a good point ( but apart from that your post is unnecessarily abrasive - folks are perfectly entitled to be geeky about terps or structure or whatever matters to them)
The taste of Bubba was the fist thing that got my attention when i smoked it, and back then most people in the UK still smoked cannabis mixed with tobacco (because we had nearly all hash imported and no weed for many years and that was the habit that most older UK smokers were in )
Weed has to have a strong distinctive taste to cut through when smoked with tobacco.. and this influenced what became popular in UK back then. Cheese and blues for example tasted fantastic with baccy. I had received the Bubba clone along with a few others that, before i smoked them, i found much more exciting.. so it was a real moment of surprise and realization the fist time i rolled with bubba. Hashy Coffee/mocha hint of incense flavour with the most glorious horseradish/victory V cough sweets flavour in the sinuses on exhale.
Since that moment when the Bubba 'clicked' with me , ive come to love it for a few other reasons.. but yeah. Taste was the start of it.
