thanks for that VerdantGreen so is it possible to get pre98 bubba kush in seed form like the one's lex-uk grew ?

Lex is in the UK so he likely has the same cut as mine. HitH is correct that it can look quite different from grow to grow and ive seen those brown autumn colours on my cut sometimes.

bubba is the perfect clone to make S1s of as it is quite true-breeding - although my pre-98 cut is very reluctant to make pollen and you only get really tiny amounts to work with.

unfortunately i just sent my last seeds of the current batch of bubba S1s to the bay a week or two ago and they sold out very quickly.. but keep your eye out in the seedbay threads for the re-lists, there is likely to be a few of those in the next few months.

i am intending to make more S1s pretty soon if all goes well.

I don't sell seeds but I thought I'd share a story (info).
I was in a group for many years and we did some very special work. One of our members (Katsu BlueBird) had some deep pockets when it came to buying seeds on C-Bay. Katsu always got what ever seeds he wanted. Katsu would plant his seeds and kill all the males and then keep only the best females, giving him the best ever stable of clone mothers you have ever seen. The members were very hard workers and one of the members came threw with a Bubba Kush male. Some pollen was shipped to Katsu and F1's were made. I still hold some F1's and many F2's. Also Katsu selfed the Katsu Bubba Kush clone and used the pollen on each of his Elite Clone mothers and gave these seeds out to our members. I was lucky enough to receive; Venomberry x Bubba Kush, Grapefruit Mango x BK, M39 x BK, and Oxygen 19 x BK. The strains that I received were just a few of these x's made and given out. The problem with me is that I am a breeder and all these x's are female seeds and I like to keep my strains stright and pure. I have given away hundreds of the Bubba Kush F2's so maybe if some of people that received them, grow them out, everyone may soon see some F3's around. Later, Stash

Interesting story stash, I always thought the katsu was an S1 of pre98?

So was the male BK pure pre98 like from the originator of the strain or was it something else like a bubba hybrid? I've read thru about all of the info I could find on the internet about the pre98, first time I have read something like this.

What was the time frame? I have also read that pre98 first made its appearance in 1996, some of the oldest pre98 bubba info I could find people actual refer to it as pre96.

I had always thought that the pre98 was first then the katsu came later, because the 2 look similar but not the same. I thought the katsu was like the european bubba.

ummmm ....lemme finish . I wanted to see the difference between the Ox and Verdant Greens Pre 98 S1 Bubba . So I have started seeds of both. I already have a nice Ox mom but wanted to see what else might be hiding in the pack of Ox . 3 seeds of Ox are a few days old , the Bubba S1's I started a week later and just put in soil today, if all goes well they will be seedlings in less than 48 hours. !

they had like 10 people on.. 3 different podcasts about the history.. and they go over how.. the same cut just kept getting renamed.. from Kush.. to OG Kush.. to Ghost OG.. to this and that.. and then they go over how some are hybrids or crosses.. or S1s ..
it was a good amount of information to be honest.. I was skeptical . of the adam dunn show.. but.. recently.. he has got some really really good info on there.. but don't get me wrong like every podcast.. there are some boring as fuck episodes. lol

So ur buddy got male pollen from bubba, but still selfed the female bubba. Why wouldn't he just make f2's. Instead of female stock. But he made f1's with his elite clones and the reversed pollen. what did the male pollen get used on then? This doesn't make sense to me. Unless he never got the male, but he did get the female. Then he reversed the female. then this story could make sense. or im just plain missing something?

I'm thinking somebody here on IC might know more considering this is where Veg n Out (AKA Backyard Farmer, AKA Dusty, AKA Danimal, AKA Etc., AKA etc...) hangs out.

A year ago...a fellow IC'er made me aware that Backyard Farmer/Veg n Out was taking things I've done/said and telling people he had done them (the quote above as an example)...now this in itself is nothing new as Backyard has been a pathalogical liar for the entire 10 years I've known him around the internets...I merely turned a blind eye on him for quite some time as it's nothing anyone can change, not even him.

I feel it's my responsibility to help clean up some of Backyard Farmers/Veg N Outs lies around the net. With that said, and why this rant of sorts is pertinent to a Bubba thread, I'm curious if anyone knows how these lies end up on, essentially, strain history sites as "the facts"?

The Real Facts on Bombthreat Bubba Kush #7...

Back in 2006 I made a bunch of Bubba S1's & Bubba Kush Fem hybrids...I sprouted 20 of the Bubba S1 seeds and the Number 7 ended up being the keeper of the bunch. In a pow wow with several ICmag members, Randy California, Tom Hill & myself among others, the Bubba Number 7 was jokingly renamed Bombthreat Bubba and the name kinda stuck. Veg N Out/Backyard Farmer had absolutely nothing to do with any of it at all. I'm assuming based on his fictional version of events, in the quote above, that I'm Veg's "buddy"
