Bubba Kush Smoke Report.

Bag Appeal:

8/10 -

Above average resin content with sticky consistency. The bud is kinda rock candied with resin. Not THE most resinous strain out there of course, but it does the job. The colors are magnificent, a light sea foamy gray blue with contrasting orange hairs. There are better looking buds out there but this one is no slouch :joint:

Smell:

9.5/10 -

This bud just smells heavenly IMO. Upon first inhale you get a smell of intense grape/mint/kush/fruit which is followed by a heavy diesel/earthy finish. This smell HEAVILY intensifies and morphs with curing. Hands down one of the best smelling buds I've had experience with... The Purps are well grown Erkle are about the same category in smell department.

Smoke:

9/10

One of the smoothest smoking buds I've had. Seems to just glide down your throat with no irritation and comes out smooth with a heavy kush/diesel/fruit flavor that seems to hang around forever as you enjoy the high. The best way I can describe it is a fluffy, moist dank smoke that is surprisingly smooth.

Taste:

9.5/10

To this day I have not tasted a single bud that surpasses this homegrown bubba in pure taste senstation. If there is a bud that tastes exactly like it smells this is it....I don't know how it does it...but lots of buds smell excellent and taste just like every other "good bud"....The bubba is definitely a stand out in the taste department.

Potency:

8/10:

My ONLY complaint about the Bubba is it's potency. Don't get me wrong, it gets the job done and it gets it done WELL, but it's just not that bud that "FUCKS YOU UP". I describe it as making you feel very good, a sense of happiness and bliss...rather than just obliterating you completely. It's a surprisingly functional high but it keeps you reminded that it's there and kickin strong.

Ease of growth:

8/10:

Awesome plant for space limited evironments. She just doesn't get very big and has very minimal stretch. Very little training is required. On the downside I found her kinda difficult to dial in. PH variances will cause spots on leaves and nutes need to be pretty exact. Slight fuck ups and you will see massively reduced yeilds, but quality seems to remain good. Yield overall is very low...she will not produce thick colas but rather lots of small dense budsites up the stem. Partial harvesting might be a good idea with this strain since the buds grow pretty evenly up the stalk.

Overall impressions:

I like this strain a lot. My friends all love it as well...I could see myself growing it for AT LEAST a few more runs unless something better comes along.

Opinions and comments appreciated...thanks for readin. Peace :lurk:

Nice report. Bubba is one of my all time favs. My only disagreement is I'd give the potency a 9 outta 10, it always knocks me on my butt. :rasta:

Great smoke report OGstradamus, you are a lucky man to have such quality genetics. make sure you keep hold of this one man. i would anyway, lol. you never know when you find something really special again and even if you do it just means you will have two great strains.

oldpink gave us a sample of bubba kush, it was really awesome i must say. had been cured for ages, i don't know who gave the sample to oldpink. but it was a superb smoke and that compared to some great stuff that was around including og (kush abusive cut) mental floss amnesia99 and on, lol.

Dude thats not Bubba kush, I am so sorry. please forgive me but we need to have better information around here. again I am sorry but that ain't it. Please don't shoot the messenger.
Remember you said "Opinions and comments appreciated"
but the Bubba Kush grows nothing like that and the buds don't ever look like that.
I hope this helps and does not discourage you.
and when you find what you are looking for you will have more 10's in your evaluation. So good luck!
peace and pot

I don't know if I would say it's not Bubba Kush, but perhaps it's one of the S1s.. Not saying it is..

All I know is I have a crazy tolerance to indica strains, and the Bubba kush (real one) was the 1st strain that actualy made my face tingle slightly numb, and actualy say out loud... "WoW!"..

Now of course all peeps are dif, but I've never seen even the most experienced toker rate real bubba lower than 9 for potency.

Your buds do look 'like' bubba fo sure, but definately somewhate different than the 'real' one i know in my garden..

No offense at all, please don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't sound like the report is for the 'real' bubba.. I haven't seen anyone even consider replacing the real bubba once they have it..

Another small tell is u didn't mention coffee at all in the smell/taste, which is an obvious trait of 'real' bubba..

You may have one of the well known S1s like the purple bubba, the mint bubba, etc.. Since u mentioned some mint perhaps you have the mint pheno..

Altho we can't forget that everyone is different, and that may account for the differences in what you'd expect from a bubba report..

I'm sure you'll enjoy it either way  And I must say i loved your harvest pics, it sure is a pretty example of bubba.

While I can't tell you about the strain, I do apreciate the smoke report and the debate. I hope to have a Bubba clone in the not too distant future. Then I'll be able to have a educated reply. Your report is timely as I'll know what to expect. Thanks for the writeup.

It matters as long as the S1's that are goin around are still considered, by the majority of people fortunate enough to try them, second place. Not to be confused with second rate :noway: Matter of fact the only S1 that i've heard of that seems to be always get respect is the Mint Bubba. But not too many people have that one. I guess it can be improved tho...on veg time. I've seen it yeild well a few times already ;)

I've got some buddies that have S1's that are as good if not better than any Bubba cut I have experienced. I'm not kidding, that's why I believe Orgnkid deserves his props cuz the Bubba S1's did a world of good for the entire cannabis community, giving many their first and most importantly a true representation of Socal Kush.

Ogstradamus~ Excellent Bubba report man...she does sound extremely tasty. :yummy:

I've followed yer pics of Bubba for awhile now...and...I have kept quiet because some folks take it the wrong way when ya tell 'em some thangs.

While yer Bubba does look outstanding...none of your pics have looked like the original cut...IMHO you prolly have an S1...

...now, as beancounter said, "don't get me wrong"...I'm a huge fan of S1's and often times there are better or different representations of the original in tha S1 offspring...fer example, I like my Mendo Purp's S1 waaaay better then tha mother cut...same can be said fer tha Urkle S1 I selected out of 70+ Urkle S1 beans.

I honestly think tha only folks who should even be worried about having the 'Original' cuts are the professional breeders & the preservationists...heck, one o' my bro's, it seems, just tosses aside cutz that many folks would kill for and keeps the polyhybridz just because the finished product is better...to each thar own y'know.

That doesn't look like my Bubba Kush at all.
Unless maybe there is no Co2 and little light, and the genetics were changed....
Honestly, it looks like a Kush, but not Bubba.
I got Bubba from a close friend. Smoked it and grown it for almost a year now. It's one of the stoniest pot strains in the world. I know, I smoke the best whenever I can. I grow great strains, and Bubba takes the top awards for strength. It makes you VERY high, and it's a heavy stone, almost too much for novices.
The plant grows short, (same as your description), but the buds ar emuch fuller in rock hardiness than your pics. My Bubba Buds are SOLID NUGS, like rocktype bud, not airy at all. Very tight and condensed.
If you grow in soil, it's much more forgiving when it comes to PH and nuts.
As far as the taste goes, I would say it reminds me of the most chemical laden hydro grown nutrient pumped earthy,"chem-taste".....Very nice and flavorful, but if I didn't know I grew it myself organically in dirt, I would bet big dollars it was grown with massive chemies. That's just the taste I remember from chemical grown herb and hydro buds.

The only thing I have had that is stronger is LA Kush (not generic name, but the actual name of it is LA Kush).

well kush threads are always a chuckle...

isn't that a fact, hehe :biglaugh:

it's entertaining to see people come on and say flat out, that's not buba kush, when they have but seen a pic or two and read a subjective description.

i mean any grower worth his salt knows that the same genetics can come out looking very different depending on the way they were grown. the medium that's used also makes a difference. even just slight climate differences can change the look of the buds from a strain. not to mention the addition of co2.

so it really is quite hilarious to read how some people make such definite sounding statements, when they can't have that much growing experience in the first place.

even the description can't be cited as proof that it is or isn't BK. as taste, smell and high are always subjective to some degree.

all you can say is that your BK looks different to this BK.

Well first off ... They look awesome  Wheather or not it is the real thing I can't say, I hope so ... everyone should have it I think. I hope someday we can get around all this real or not real crap that always comes out of these Kush threads. I would love to try it but my personality couldn't take someone telling me it is not real everytime I tried to share pics of it.

I personally don't understand why people have to bust someone's pride by saying you don't have the real thing just because they either have it, want it or don't want anyone else to have it. Must be greed!!

Hey I have to females of Reeferman's Charles Kush going ... Anyone know if it is real or not? :D

Sorry fo the negativity but it always happens in a Kush thread.

Ogstradamus knows what good bubba is, and if Ogstradamus thinks the bubba hes got is worthy of being called bubba then its bubba to me. cracked out kush fanatics who wanna piss in peoples cheerios suck. maybe if he had said he got the cutting from a friend in the SFV whos been running the cut for 20+ years. thats always golden!!! maybe it would have sounded better and convinced more people!
