the bubbak s1's that orgnkid made back when(in 01-02) were very nice via cbay, can't comment on anything hes made since then, but the beans back then out of 40 females, 1 really shined, and was held aside, had a beautiful minty taste/smell - dubbed the mint bubbak
(also medicinal/coffee) -- and also was the clear winner over the clone(pre-98) and all the phenos as it was done side by side many times.
like someone here said before, there is two phenos with the s1 , the purple and the green, from what i remember the purple represented the pre-98 cut and the green more of the sativa side of the bubbak(representing the nugs you see in this picture, with a sharp edged vs. the round golf ball nugs),
not sure if now it is reasonable to sift through 6 packs- but back when cbay was young, these packs were only 60 bucks a piece - so go figure, what was found was well worth the price.
hopefully can dig up some pics of her, but the mint is a mix of both the 98 and green/sativa pheno in that it produces those beautiful tasty buds in 8 1/2 weeks vs. 10 weeks, has much more crystalization, the flavor is much better than the cut, upon inhale you taste hashy/coffee/incense, on the exhale the taste is akin to minty kush and leaves the most wonderful spicy/sexy taste on the pallate imaginable. by far gentlemen, this strain wins any competitions, hands down to the best of the best, as far as i'm concerned. but the yield is really not there, until it was crossed with some strawberry cough(to be continued.....
Just a quick question for you guys. Have any of you heard of anyone growing Bubba outdoors? If so how did it do? I am planning on putting at least 10 clones in the ground for my outdoor grow but I cant recall every seeing a huge Bubba plant under Mother Natures grow light. When grown indoors the plant seems to have kind of weak branches as I had to tie her up the last few weeks. This is my only concern since we have some pretty strong storms where I am at.
This cut was gifted by a very good guy on OG before it went down. He was from Cali but I am not sure if he got it at a club but I doubt it... I agree that this is a great strain but in my book I would rather have a good true breeding IBL in seed form any day of the week. I cant stand keeping mother plants around all summer as to not lose the genetics. I think that a strains real worth comes out in its seed. Can you plant 50 seeds and get 50 good plants, or can you plant 50 seeds and get one super-star and all the rest shit. I would rather have the 50 all around good plants than the super-star. I am not saying that clone only strains are bad, they are just alittle more pain in my ass........ Just smoked a joint of some Bubba and I am ranting. Here's some inspiration.
scc3 good job with your bubba! looks nice, i love how all the calyxs seem to be seperated. I've got a clone from so-cal of the bubba. Don't really know to much about it except that its so fucking dank! Mine gets purple tipped caylxs and I pulled some around 50 days and they were fantastic! The friend that gave me the clone said he harvest every 56 days in coco. When its dry it tastes like sweet perfume. I love smoking bubba, hope you don't mind me posting a couple pics, peace everyone!
very nice scc3. your photos look just like my bubba i got from greethumb seed. but i wasent to pleased with the taste or smell but the buzz was about a 7.
shoulda waited it out scc cause that looks almost identical to a lot of the bubba I have seen. I bet a good month cure and that stuff would have exceeded taste as well.
swollen, I think any connoisseur of the elites that had real pre'98 or even the NGKB would keep it for the head. I have several chemdog, and rez strains, but nothing sticks to the pallete longer than my bubba. I have a couple different OG's and yes they are an 8-9 in the stoney dept, but the musky sweet coffee hash flavor of the clone only pre '98 and the '03 next gen kush bubba would be very hard to part with. I had the same mom since '97 and she broke at the base once she hit 5+', and lived to produce thousands more cuts until my buddy who was babysitting my bk mom let the DWC bucket dry out and killed her. I am starting fresh from 4 fresh cuts a friend I gifted the strain to was willing to give back to me. I would got more if he didnt strip his mom down to the trunk..
He had an SFV_OG mom that I was able to butcher up and took 68 cuts of her for moms. I just wished I could of mommed out 68 bubbas. with those, headband, chem d, and sourIBL's as well as the Ken'z GDP I have enough to work with to keep myself happy for some time. I am hoping my double D is a keeper as well, but w 20 seeds, we will see... here's some pics of pre '98 bubba from various grows over the last few years.
damn you guys. all of your bubbas are absolutely gorgeous. the pre 98 has to be amongst a few good close knits here in Norcal somewhere. its just a matter of time until i get lucky.
