I grew 1 seed of the Bubba Kush S1 from Cali Kush Seeds at the start of the year just for my own little experiment. 1)To see if they are selfed 2)To see if it really is Bubba Kush. 1)Yes, the seed was female and 2)I'm not sure, never grew or sampled any of the real Bubba.
From all the Bubba pics I've seen and the information regarding the strain, I found that the plant I grew had the similar look and growth pattern. Very slow veg, loves light, nutes and turns purple in cooler temps. The smell was quite sweet with coffee/berry undertones and had quite an impressive trichome production.
I harvested at day 70. The smoke was quite flavoursome but the high was not there (probably due to the short veg time I gave). I didn't keep a clone, which I should've done and given it another run to see if the maturity plays a big role in its high, but from what I've experienced, its not as good as its hyped up to be!
I've got the rest of the pack to play with and do hope to find a better selection, possibly the mint pheno.
I found a couple nanners in the bud which was caused by some light leaks, so be careful of anything that'll stress the plant, the S1's really are sensitive.
I'll be following this!

A club I go to has had bud grown from these beans a few times. Always good smoke...always expensive. I have also had bud grown from the orig clone...and although there is a somewhat of a big difference, the S1 bud smokes real nice and gets you toasted

Hope you have better luck germing those than the OG s1s i got from Gypsy. Not one single bean even cracked. I might as well thrown that $100 out the window.

Blazed out , thanks for stoppin in . Yes I beleive you cant really judge a plant esp. from seed , till a clone run has been done to establish what is reallly goin on . Thanks for tha heads up on factors of herms . My show is pretty tightly run .

Well , as you can see from tha pic , we have acoupla laggers , but I've got my fingers crossed . There's 1 or 2 beans that have split , just can't see 'em from how they are sitting .

I only veged till sexed, so the yield was poor. Mine went purple on their own without a cold dump. The 10 week flower made all the buds bleed through with the color.

Thas how most of my beans have been going. 3-4 strong sprouts and the rest just kinda run outa juice before the sprout completly. Ive got a shit load of genetics and want to grow them all but am afraid of killing them in germination. I had a small outdoor grow last year and took most of the money from that and got damn near 60 differet strains. Got 5 diff strains going now but heat wave just hit and is gonna last 14 days. hope they make it. Oh by the way somebody asked if gypsy had the kush. He did for a short while but sold out fast. They were from cali kush seeds. He had the bubba kush and the oger kush. Both S1.
well i have three C's version of bubba S1. one pheno, very little odor, but seemed quite strong. with the slightly immature sample i had. the other pheno smells a lot, and very similar to the pink kush smell in reefermans stable. havent tried it yet. anyone know what the origional bubba kush odor is?

yup kinda like a hashy choclate coffee.. this si the pre-98 smell and the pre-board... now orgn kids bubba smells simialr but not the same.. you can get the green pheno or the purple pheno from this. the purple is ok wide round leaves very pungent odor but the high is lacking imo. the green pheno has the wide leave but not rounded looking more pointed. good yeilder great high and strong hit of the 2. i just lost my purple pheno and one of my green pheno bubbas from orgn kids mother plants..should be nice to see. the beans that gypsy had that were og and bubba are from cali kush seeds.. the 3c's cuts is a nice tasting cut also. one of the better s1's imo

In my opinion the bubba s1 are well worth the space in the garden. and your right on the money about vegging the hell out of them because they dont stretch much at all. here are some picts of the mother the SCC cecided to keep which is the purple pheno.. I have no way of comparing it to the original cutting because the only other bubba Ive smoked was from a med club in LA, and although it strongly resembled the green pheno we had, it definately was not up to its potential
So if any body wants to part with say cuttings of , Original bubba or OG
