yeah, it is easy.. as long as yer temps are good (around 70-75 is fine) it's np..

The growth it hard to beat, and it's easy to jus do a few buckets on the side.. If u wanna do a few clones with minimum veg time i'd suggest running a tubbler (rubbermaid 4 site) as they're easier for more plants.. Or even a 2 site tubbler would rock 2 pretty big plants.

jus keep yer PH and ppm in check and you'll be good to grow.. dude, i've neglected this pretty bad.. i've only did one bucket change so far, i think at about 15 days, and have only done crude top ups once in a while.. I even let it run almost dry once.. just watch the water levels and the plants for deficiencies and adjust..

Bubba is fairly easy to grow if u don't push her, and watch her for deficiencies.. As soon as u see her getting pale, she'll start to stretch, and new leaf size will descrease.. Bubba is happiest kept almost a black green, jus a lil less N then it takes to get her to claw..

Make sure u top her, prune her down low, and pull her apart with LST, or use supercropping/pinching/twisting to get her to open up..

Once u get her in flower, prune any lower branches that look kinda pale/underdeveloped from being shaded.. then, prune of whole fan fingers, 1/2 fingers, whatever u have to to get solid light to the main branches and tops.. bubba will do MUCH better if u can get strong/direct light to all of the budsites.. Like Deep Chunk, this is one plant where leaf pruning is definately beneficial.. yet, u don't wanna prune off any leaves that aren't blocking other branches/budsites..

She is a hungry plant, no doubt, but in soiless her N requirements drop drastically at about 2 wks flower, like most plants.. except with Bubba it's alot easier to claw her IME, jus because u are used to feeding her so heavily.. She'll continue to eat alot in flower, just much more PK and much less N than veg and early flower.. jus be wary of the N factor in early flower, it's thrown me for a loop before..

but she'll reward u with some of the best herb u have ever smoked :yummy:

bc,

Thank you for this very informative thread. I just rec'd some bubba clones myself and plan to run a few in buckets. Now I have a much better idea of how to go about it and what to look out for.

here's a small update... the big one is still not in the 5 gal, i've been slackin, especialy cause i don't really have the head room for the 5 gal right now.. but hopefully i'll do it tonight..

The big one has taken it's final shape, and i spun it around to get a shot of the front of the plant..this plant is vegged for vert flowering, that's why it's shaped like it is.. both plants are very healthy, still no nutrient swaps, jus top ups..

the big one is about 20+ ", I want at least another 6" of height before i flower, but i may not be able to do it.. I want her to finish at aprox 5' from the top of the bucket..

the lil one is about 14-16", i haven't measured it yet, it will get flowered as soon as the big one is ready..

Here's the canopy on the big ones, at least 20+ tops all together, @ 49 days:

Here's both of them, mostly the big one tho.. the lil one is at 33 days in the pics i think:

Looking good. One thing about DWC is once you try it, it's hard not to. Faster growth, bigger yields, what more could you ask for?

thanks for stoppin by chief and Orange

I just wanted to update that I finally got around to putting the bigger Bubba clone into a 5 gallon bucket.. The roots were healthy and smelling fresh but slightly beige from the nutes.. The water was kinda milky/silty, but it was more from being concentrated (1/3 full), and root/hydroton particles than anything.. I guess that's what the enzymes are for..

I'll give her another week or 2 in the 5 gal, swap out the nutes and clean both buckets, and put them into flower.. i can't wait to see my 1st DWCs in flower, especialy since it's Bubba.. :yummy:

Bubba seems to have found a happy home, despite the solution levels..... Lush little bushes for being so young! :canabis:

hey

hey

nice lookin plants ya got there!
i have done a lot of 5 gal bubblers, and its been my experience that hydro organic nutes, anything brown, will make this nasty snot stuff stck to your roots, then you have to wash it off real carefully..lol,imo good ole gh flora 3 part has worked the best in the buckets.if the nutes make the water brown its always been a problem..maybe someone else has experienced this?
peace,
juggo

these are some ecsds and a bubblegum in there somewhere in 5 gal bubblers, with gh nutes, lucas formula.
happy growwin

thanks pipeline and juggo..

Well folks, we're definately getting close to flowering for the DWC Bubba bushes..

The big one is now at 65 days of veg and the lil one, still in the 3.5 gallon bucket, is at 50 days of veg..

They're looking great, running at about 1200ppm for both of 3 part AN nutes.. will be switching over to PBP on one of them for comparo reasons when flowered..

Anyways, i'm sure they woulda been much bigger with proper bucket changes every 2 weeks, but i'm still happy with the growth rate..

Here's both of em, a few shotz.. it's kinda hard to see the smaller one tho:

Here's the big one on her own.. She's pushing about 25 tops, and 25 inches tall.. very close to my desired trigger height of 2-2.5':

Well, they got flipped today

Big one went in @ 66 days veg, 25" tall, and about 25-30 tops.. drinkin' about 3/4 gallon of water a day.. I'll be very happy if I can get her to 4' tall at finish..

Smaller one went in @ 51 days of veg and 17" tall.. she has slightly less tops at about 20, but i'll count later to be sure.. I hope she finishes at about 30-32"..

Both are running about 1250-1300 ppm.. and I would say both are about 95-99% healthy and ready for flower..

I forgot to take some pics of the lil one, but i got some of the big bubba by her self..

Big Bubba T Bone Smith @ 66 days of veg:

^as u can see the 1st pics make it look alot lighter green.. I'd say real life colour is closer to the 2nd set, but not quite that dark.

Hey bean, had problems locating that GA3 but i did find it and sent it out a couple days ago from TX. Let me know when you get it. Do some research on what PPM you need for germing beans. I want to say it's 2,000 but i'm not positive.

thanks nandro, I hope I can keep em lookin' that way all the way thru harvest.. gotta get me a water pump to make bucket changes easier..

no worries chief

Here's a pic of the big one @ 66 days i forgot to post yesterday..

That's a 6" netpot, so i'd guess the stock is about 1.75" wide or so:

@ 13 days and the big one is at 30-31", started flowering at 24/25" about 1/2" of stretch a day...

The lil one has been a lil stretchier, but it's too awkward to measure her.. I think the reason the big one isn't as stretchy is from the Nitrogen levels being slihgtly higher on the big one, as she's a bit darker green..

But no claw so far, and they're both looking perfectly heatly..

The Big one is easily as wide as it is tall and jus getting bigger.. been pruning fans alot, and removed a few lower tops..

Right now the big one needs top ups about every 4-5 days, as it's hella cold in there..

I'll try to get some pics up of them soon.. but it's dificult to take pics in the flowering room, so you may jus get harvest pics.. But I hope to get some up before that..

and BTW, I haven't checked ppm or PH since i swapped buckets about 2 weeks ago..

I'm finding as long as I put the 3 part nutes/calmag in w/out adjusting PH for top ups I'm fine, as the PH of 5-5.5 works perfect to restabilize the PH after it rises a bit..

As far as PPM and PH, I only check those when i do full bucket exchanges.. jus to make sure i'm straing at the right the point.. after that i jus top up using the ml/gal ratio to mix nutes, depending on what the plant wants..
