yeah, I'd smoke that. I had a friend spark a doob that made my mouth tingle one time, I asked him wtf was in it, he said it was just the bud, he thought it was moldy (they tried to salvage a bunch of bricks for a friend in the pen). I smelled the bag, had that cognac smell, and an ammonia smell. I put that shit down and rolled one of mine lol. that ammonia smell is the scary stuff, well, anything that smell like ammonia just sucks. good job on yours tho, have fun, stay high!
some of the best (most memorable) weed I've ever smoked was medium dark brown, soft and chocolatey. There was no mold or mildew or anything else...just smooth yummy smoke. I compare it to a fine pipe tobacco texture/feel. So yeah the green goes away sometimes. Especially if you don't over dry it going into the jars.
Thats exactly what most socal bubba looks like. You even described the same smell. Its not as pungent stinky like og kush. I bet when you smoke it the deep hash, pine, somewhat sweet flavors come out. Great job on the grow/harvest!
I don't know personally when I got that cognac/alcohol smell upon opening the jar, and the bud turned browner then usual I took it as a bad sign.
The only time I've had buds turn out like that I did exactly what you tried. I tried to extend the cure by curing the buds with a lil extra moisture then usual. Just enough moisture to sour the buds in my case. The same buds dried better before cure kept their bag appeal, and were much more flavorful IMO.
I find if I dry the buds almost fully, to the point I only have to sweat the jars for a week or two to get the deep moisture out before being fully dried to the point I can seal up the jars and put them away, they cure much nicer, keep their color longer, and don't develop that sour alcohol smell. Instead of extending the cure, I extend the dry period by placing them into paper bags after a few days of hanging. basically doing the same thing as you'd do in the jars opening the bags daily, moving the buds etc. I find the paper bags allow just enough airflow for a slower drying period without mold. I'm not saying what happened to mine, happened to ur buds as maybe urs do have have a natural cognac flavor/scent, and a browner color after a longer cure, it's just something to maybe consider or try out. I noticed it really quickly myself as it happened with a strain I dried, and long cured many times prior, and when it took on that smell and the tanner less vibrant browner color I knew it was off from prior grows. Your descriptions of smell-color changes just sorta struck me as very similar to what I experienced when I tried to extend the cure by keeping them moisture.
All the bud ive cured for over a month+ always turned brown, even though they were perfectly dried no light getting into jar etc. opened every few days.
this was some white widow after 2 months cure. went from a really light green to a darker color. only picture I could find
