I have no idea I'm assuming bc of it's pine smell and taste. We never had big name cultivars where I'm from..I live in Alabama in the country. So basically I only had/
have access to these local strains. This is one of em. Still to this day like that, marijuana is still very illegal here. Just a bunch of good ole boy smokers hahaha. No big name medical strains or access really unless I drive to Florida, which is fine. Ive gown a few California big name strains too but these local ones are more fun.

I have a couple vegging out, just waiting for a male to pollinate them later on. And I will be giving away some to people that are interested in growing it. Probably do better in a hybrid anyway. I did give a few to a member so I'll try an get his pictures whenever they get going.

Bronsolino how's that plant doing? Plz share a picture, I have one more seed as well of the durban nights. Just smoked the last of it, and it really does have a great long lasting effect. Not quite the smell I was looking for however. Very kitchen cabinet herb terps. I wanted incense terps so no biggie.

Oh heres that lavender kush dry now.. I can't remember if this is a local cultivar or not. I have 15 more seeds of this coming, if anyones interested lmk I can spare 5 or so. There reg seeds

Local strains can be every bit as good if not better than popular strains. I have sampled quite a few.

I lived in a small town on the CDN & US border for 30 years. Citizens from both sides of the border would mingle in various locations, pubs, stores, laundromat and local parties. I would get to sample strains from the US, especially northwest strains and Cali strains. It also worked in the other direction with BC strains finding their way to the US. I don't live in that area any longer but I am still within a short drive to the border. My partner she is a US citizen duel Canadian citizen. I am unable to cross the border because of an old cannabis possession charge. Years gone by it was much simpler to cross the border.

After almost 15 years of being able to grow legally, it's not hard for me to forget many don't have the same opportunity. For this next year I can grow up to 20 medicinal cannabis plants at a time and 4 recreational plants as all BC citizens can do.

When I was a small boy and my grandfather would take us to a local airport and we would watch the planes landing and taking off. My great grandfather was born before there were airplanes and before he died they were going to the moon. Enjoy your air show.

Cool wish I lived up there, beautiful area! I'm jealous, here's some more shots as the plant fades. First plant is bubblegum.

Here she is a couple days ago. Today is Day 68 and I’m thinking I’ll chop sometime this week.
Very nice! Sorry I haven't popped in for a while. I'm kinda over the online thing as nobody shows interest these days with all the legal states. Hope it smokes good.

I've taken my grows to strictly old school strains. Running hashplant, afghani, balkh, g13 x hasplant, and white widow and rhino. So pretty indica heavy lineup.

When I first came on this site years and years ago, it was something special to see the grows people were doing. I remember someone named orchidman who did some fine grows plus a few others.

Today grows are everywhere and unless it is something special they pretty much go by the way.

Older experienced growers should be able to pass along their knowledge, this is a good place to do it, plus a place to discuss strains and their attributes.
I enjoyed your grow.

Hi nick11, good to see you back, all is looking good, I will looking forward to your update.

The Freakshow is showing lots of sparkle, the pistols are quite long.

Besides your plants I like the look of the cabinet with the bamboo designs.

I am doing well, thank you. Not a big fan of hot summer weather, love summer but not the heat. Hope things are going along smoothly for you .

It will be nice to see some old strains and you know it's not legal in all country yet, many growers from different places than the USA are here still.
Very true I realize that now, thanks for stopping by. On a side note I tossed the pine budd, yield was just too small to pursue. I saved a couple seeds though.

I've got a few nostalgic plants coming up very soon. I have pnw hashplant, Puck, dp white widow, dp frisian dew, and silver haze. Here's the haze, widow, and frisian dew.

I loved dutch passion when I first got into growing them and sensi were top dogs. Both still offer all those classic strains which is awesome! I'm most excited for the widow, haven't smoked it years.

Thanks that actually came from Japan! My relatives live in Toyko which is cool so I've got quite a few neat things from there. I absolutely love their culture, honestly wish I lived there. They have so much history compared to north america.

I lived in a small town here in BC that had been an internment camp for the Japanese during the war years. Some settled there after the war. My neighbor and his wife were in those camps when they were young. I enjoyed our neighborly chats. There is also a number of Japanese gardens in the town, the horticultural designs are amazing. With some gorgeous wood work in the pergolas.

Hey Nick,
Been watching your grows. Please keep posting and sharing. I've been on IC Mag since 2007 (2 different nics) and I agree the lack of participation on the forums is discouraging. I would agree that legal grows have taken the luster out of the renegade aspect of illegal growing.
Rec cannabis finally became legal here in Ohio this year.
I did a DWC 2 site run of the Headband 99 this winter into spring and currently have a monster Headband 99 outdoors just waiting to flower.
IMG_1741.JPG

Nice smoke, good tase and great head high. I thought the structure was a little weak with some foxtailing and large internode spacing. Pulled about 8 oz from the indoor grow (6 bud and 2 larf) under a 400 CMH.

I've never had a problem with BG seeds. Always arrive in a timely manner and no issues sprouting.
I currently have C99, Apollo, Grim Glue, Puck Yes and Durban Thai 99 I'll be running indoors later this year.
I have heard the C99 isn't the same as the original. I grew a Sour Cindy pheno back in 2008 that had people asking me what I laced my weed with. It was amazing and I kept a mother for almost 4 years. Crazy pineapple smell and fat buds!

Anyhow, keep up the good work and keep posting.
Cheers

Very cool glad you can grow safely now, must be a great feeling I'm sure. Thanks for stopping by. And no c99 isn't same it's slightly purple with more shiva skunk influence imo. I thought the bg headband was okay, not great not bad. Im all about smell thats my priority, and mine were lacking some. Cool to see you've been a long time as well. Good to meet ya. ✌️

5/6 HEKA Fem testers very close at 61 days 12/12. Had 1 real male show quickly then.
Size average with nice strong frame to train.
Frost and goo is beyond any I have had, maybe ever. Calyxes swelling nicely. Quite similar to each other with leaves running about mid width and have been a dark green until a bit of late fade now.
All have extremely short and fine pistils and virtually no new flowers. Trykes are mostly cloudy with about 10% and amber on bud leaves only.
Vaping a bit of Cinderella Purple XX
Nice
