Day 33 in the second flower tent. Hadn't run these clones in LED only yet and have noticed some positives and one negative, there seemed to be a bit less stretch than with the cmh, the frostiness started earlier and is better on both plants than when under cmh. Had issues with the bubblegum though as the plants weren't drinking enough due to environmental stresses for the first week and a half of flower, she developed a bit of a potassium deficiency in some of the plants. Only effected the bubblegums though, other plants seemed fine. Top dressed the plants with a bio fert and some worm castings about 3 days ago.

Second Afghaan 99 is still going strong, she's around week 8 now I think, looks to have a few more weeks to go. Was only placed in a 6L pot so hasn't thrived, as such, but I'm still interested to see what she ends up like. Very promising so far... There's a little pine to the smell, but not overwhelmingly. It's mostly skunky/burnt rubber smelling. Looks to be a light producer, but that could likel be improved in a larger container, lanky as hell..

The 'production' tent. The bubblegum plants didn't urn out so well under the LED's, they developed a potassium deficiency I couldn't seem to remedy. Some turned out better than others, but will most likely all end up as hash, smells and resin coverage are still good though. The Black Domina x Zizi plants did excellent though, dense, stanky, and highly resinous. Both of these plants produced much greasier resin under the LED's compared to the CMH, smells and bud structure look better too.

Been a bit since I've been able to post here, holiday commitments and all. The a99's have all been harvested and dried, pretty happy with both, #1 is very very nice...

Smoke/grow report:

Afghaan 99 Pheno 1 -

Yield: Above average, was close to 2 oz's under 320w cmh in 15l of soil.
Smell: Sweet, fermented tropical fruit, slightly earthy.
Taste: Very similar to the smell with a slight pineyness to it, the smoke is very smooth.
High: Excellent, I can't stop smoking it. It's got a good mix of cerebral and body, the head enjoys music and nature more, feels alert but at ease, makes you feel smiley and social. The body is relaxed, but not in a narcotic tired way, more in a at ease anti-inflammatory way.

Verdict: Definitely going to keep this one around for a while.

Afghaan 99 Pheno 2 -

This one went about 3 weeks longer than pheno 1, 11 and a bit weeks. I had other commitments in the last couple weeks so wasn't as attentive to her as I should have been, she had some watering and heat issues but still persevered. I also let her dry a little longer than I should have in the hot weather, not to a crumbly point, but further along than I would have liked before jarring her.

Yield: Average, was grown in a small 6l pot, stretched a lot and the buds were thinner and more airy than pheno 1.

Smell: Skunky, spicy, with a little citrus.

Taste: A bit harsh due to over-drying but skunky/burnt rubbery with a bit of sourness.

High: Decent, not that strong, thought stimulating, can get racy if over indulged, not much body but has a similar effect to pheno 1 in that regard.

The outdoor Afghaan 99 is pumping, have had to trim her half back twice so far and she's still bushing out. This photo's only for a few days ago and she's grown a further foot since. Would have been a colossal plant if I'd not trimmed her back at all....

She's eclipsed the bubblegum plant below her too, thought that's still getting some solid toppage...

Now to the indoor A99's and I think I have found the plant I want... Pheno 1 from his batch is incredible, I have about 8-9 different strains in jars at the moment and I've smoked nothing but this one and some bubble hash for the last 6 weeks, I can't get enough of it. It ticks off every box I said I wanted from this project aside from having no pine smell, but that's not all that important really. Going to keep this one around for a long time, even going to attempt to S1 her.

Here she is a few days ago at the start of week 5

Looking good man :)

That little outdoor spot looks like a sun trap I see ya neighbours banana palms are cranking
Thanks man. I actually placed it there so she didn't get too much sun, didn't want it to grow big enough for the neighbors to notice, but have still had to chop her back heavy 3 times this grow. That spot is pretty shaded for most of the morning and late afternoon, it only gets direct sun for the middle part of the day but we've had a pretty wet summer and the soil she's in is excellent so the outdoor girls have had a lot of vigor this year. I'd say she'll be ready near the end of next month.

The tent Afghaans have hit the 8 week mark, I pulled the #1 at this time last run and they were excellent, but I'll run them fr another week this time to see if it improves the body at all. The #1's leaves have started to really fade out in the last few days, while the others are still pretty solidly green.

The #1 looks superb, would you say it leans more to the Afghan side? It’s nice you found something special man..
Thanks man, I really like her, haven't had a plant hit all the right spots like this one for a while and she's not dificult to grow either. Structurally she's more Afghan, but otherwise I'd say it leans more to the c99 side for flavor, harvest time and resin. This was the only cross I made where the Afghaan 90 was the male parent, I think I used two males and my keeper c99 girl for this cross, but it was a while back and it may have just been a sole male afghan. Either way it improved the best qualities of each parent so I couldn't be happier.
