So by using a scope to look at my flowering plants I shud be able to see them on the flower itself? Is that the best way to determine if u are infected? Sorry I'm so late to this thread

Best way to check is, using a 100X scope, examine the underside of the leaves, where you will find many eggs if you are infested. The eggs are easier to see than the mites.

What concentration ISO are u using? 91% ISO cut 50/50 would be a lot different than 50% cut 50/50

You need to do the math for each grade of ISO You use, weither it be 70% 91% or 99%. I cut it to an actual 40-45% alcohol level, now as 50% is ok but can do slight damage to spiral leaves if over soaked.

If Im using 91% alcohol, I may add a cup of it to 9oz water.

thanks Phil!
got some seemingly unaffected plants ready to flip in the veg room with the infested clones.... question is how long to wait to flip the healthy ones after avid drench?

i would flip right away so as to get the longest residual effect while in flower. i would also release some predator mites in flower to help get things in check. best way is to scrap flower and start with clean veg though.

thanks... gonna get the predators for prevention

all 30 clones from progressive options are gettin scrapped.. they look fucked... and fucked some of my healthy ones... so much wasted money, time and widespread damage

all im hoping for now is to prevent spreading... was super excited to try all those strains.. should have known it was too good to be true...all i got in the end was plant fucking aids

Anyone got pics of bud with Broad mite damage?
Amazing info in this thread, follow the Avid/Forbid regime (Avid, Forbid, Avid) on small cuts (ideally dunking) and use a crazy amount of predators on larger plants close to or in flower and you will harvest well......i did 2 applications of 25,000 californicus (sp) approximately 40 large plants and they are all about to be harvested and although they are far from their best i am more than happy with the results.
Many thanks to all those who went before me with this struggle, let all be careful with chemicals and use natural predators as a way of prevention once a garden has been cleared with the safe application of Avid and Forbid.....keep your room clean (especially intake) and always dunk new clones you bring into the garden to be safe.
Peace

i have managed my broad mite problem using only predator mites in veg and flower, still no broads and its been about 3 weeks now... i have no problem with folks who choose to use avid, just sayin... will keep the community updated on my results!

Early Broad mite damage

Sour Dub

On the left Green Crack. Right Sour Dub. Cloned and Vegged same area. The GC is hella strong and only a lil purple on the stems from the mites.

Since I dealt with broad mites with DST7 and Adub. When I say the TMV look on the Sour Dub. I did not even bother looking with my scope. I just hit them with Forbid.

That very much looks like the beginnings of Broad Mite damage. Man those things are creepy.

"the damage is disproportional to the population"

I used Avid and they turned around in 3 days. Microscope is as a part of my life as my PH meter.... get to work..

I want to add that I found them in my flowering room, too late to spray ANYTHING and I used a sulfur vaporizer and 5 days later the plants look MUCH better and I can't find a mite ANYWHERE. Im sure there are some but the Sulfer Vapor seemed to really knock them back.
Anyone else have a similar experiences??

I used AVID --- AND Safer Sulphur ("Garden Fungicide"). I recommend the Concentrate bottle, not the sprayer bottle. Much more economical. Could see why the Sulphur Burner helped G.O.D., some of us have seen Sulphur to have a knockout effect with the BM's, along with AVID and Forbid (I only used AVID).

So far so good, although I am convinced that I STILL see some damage on my newer Clones. On the GSC's of course, ain';t that "The Way..."

Good Luck, Y'all..... As Always.

PYLON will also take out broads, along with a host of other mites.
its what commercial greenhouse growers use.
its expensive tho... $445 a pint

I also found spectracide brand, triazicide will take out broads
$10 a bottle and veggie friendly

Any Brand of Triple Action Neem Oil is awsome...much better to follow up rather than trying to eradicate all of them with it....

Spinosad DOES WORK INSANE... Conserve SC at 15ml per gallon will destroy them on contact and just about everything else on the plant...with ZERO phytoxicity...

With the Monteray brand that'd be like dumping 300ml per gallon... all the other ingredients would probaly toast your ladies at that rate.... Go for Convserve SC if you want to go the Spinosad route...proven it works
