So am I understanding this correctly? 10-12 on the brix meter is what it should read? anything below this is bad, but it can go higher with no troubles to your plants?

Well, let us know how your results go, IronLungOG. I am pondering getting one, but would like to see more results. As it is a fairly new science in our arena, the more ppl input with the device and say this thread or another with collective inputs, this might result in something productive with regards to how useful the tool is.

I think initially fine tuning it to a specific strain and then say on a second run, making changes in waterings/feedings and seeing results via the brix meter, would show it is an excellent tool. If it can do this and our yields, show the difference in no time, it would pay for itself and you would keeping the plant more happy.

im also very interested in taking a ph reading from the plant sap... is anyone doing this? I don't have a ph meter pen. just some old school 3 drops and match the color kit. I think i will buy a cheap ph pen and start tring to get a reading on the plant sap if i can squeeze enough out to sumbugre the pen tip in it?

Very interested in comments on plant sap ph readings

I should have explained it better on the sap measurement using a ph pen, it has to be a more advanced ph pen , because of the small amount that you are able to squeeze out. From what i read these readings are more instant, ie: if a person finds ph is low and you foliar feed a small area, if in several hours a reading is taken and it has adjusted the ph, then a whole foliar spray of the whole plant would be successful, whereas if you sprayed the whole plant and it was not happy, then it would take longer to correct this issue.

Myself, I am looking at these tools as tweaking devices, as I am past the stage of keeping a plant alive and healthy, and want to find ways to maximise overall health and yield.

Aluminum construction, feels heavy in the hand/sturdy. nice case for meter, dropper, calibration screwdriver, cloth. It is a real piece of lab equipment. $30 delivered ebay. I did not expect this quality.

Its not easy to get 3 drops. I could only get 2 with my snubnose pliers. I bought a $.99 clamp from Ho meDe pot. Its like a lrg cloths pin (spring loaded). I bent the tips back and straight, to get more squeezing surface area.

I did this a few hours ago, and have not tested yet.

A update would be interesting. :bump:

ah... its fucking hard to squeeze enough juice out to use on the brix meter (without losing a substantial plant matter).

I wish i had a better 'sqeezer'. Online, ive seen modified vice grips with a flat surface where it 'bites', that would work great.

I dont know how to weld.
