funny we dont have brick weed where i live(next to the dutch border). we complain about weed that isnt dried properly and most of them are ww or skunk crosses.
Probably lots of people bringing Dutch weed back to Belgium France & Germany, in smaller amounts (vs Mexico->US) so no need to brick. Best guess.

so what happend the grower walk out of jail the next day they cant prosecute him. prisons are full here you have to get at least 1-1.5y before you can go to jail and most grower dont get that many years) :smokeit:

My friends uncle who is in the mexican mafia always hooked us up with compressed mids at shwag prices my guess it was the stuff being grown state side by cartels I dont know for sure but I definitely ran into decent mids trafficked by L.A gangs in the late 90's who usually get it from a middle man that's hooked up in the mafia and or drug cartels south of the border..

I am in the tropics and totally stopped smoking brick about 6 years ago. Once it was not looking and smelling like that fresh mint green or choc I was used to, and started coming in like the dark ammonia smelling disgusting looking schwagg I know a few of you have experienced, I have not turned back. Besides we have options - grow your own. I only smoke fresh buds, and you should too.

peace,

Sorry- I dont have much to add to this conversation - but it has been interesting. One thing I CAN say - I had weed once that had been stored in perfume. The bag - the buds - everything was like woman's perfume. Not a good look.

Bought 1/2 oz of brick weed last week. I'm in the UK and paid £50 for it. Not bad at all, using it instead of tobacco in spliffs of polm. Got 12 seeds out of 1/2 oz so I'll be growing these 12/12 from seed at some point. It's a better smoke than than the Viet wet being passed off as Cheese at 2g for 20 quid.

In the early nineties there was good quality brick weed available in Holland, although good Thai is still available, but back then you could get brick weed from the Philippines, Indonesia (old Dutch), Jamaica, African, Mexican you name it.

BTW love the Paraguayan pics

Or soap. I used to hate the fact that we Americans got brick weed while 'all those Europeans' got bombastic hash. Then I lived in Europe for a while and had access to nothing but soap/hash... I changed my mind right quick about brick.

Still possible to find when looking for it. last time i was in A'dam (nov. 2009) I could score top notch grass from Ghana, and the coffeeshop had also another African (although no precise location), and Indonesian was also on their menu, but it was all sold out alas; Would have loved to sample it !

It could be, but it is not offered as many as in the early 90s.Indonesian are probably from old Dutch strains which were grown in the 1920-1930s for the Dutch pharmacies. Most what is offered today are Thai and 'Jamaican', what i have found in the Rotterdam area.
Would love to try Indonesian again.

Interesting subject to me, brick weed, however, I was hoping it would have focused on Mexico and not South America which is pretty obscure to those of us not living in the U.S.

I often worked with Mexicans and spoke with them about marijuana and they have a saying that for every ear of corn they plant two of marijuana or something like that.

What I'm most interested in is understanding distribution routes of Mexican brick throughout the U.S. I heard someone say that in Texas they keep the best and sell the rest.

Also, there are different grades of brick for sure. I would drive down to Texas to try to connect, but I imagine that there are interdiction points set up all over or everyone would be doing it.

Anyone have an intimate knowledge of Mexican brick processing? Do the farmers co-op their bud? Is there like an auction floor where buyers/movers come to bid and buy up lots? I used to work in tobacco and imagine there are some similarities.

Any responses to improve my knowledge are appreciated

You need to remember that Mexico as a NAFTA member gets all the cheap U.S. government subsidized corn it wants from above the border without the importer having to pay any kind of tolls, essentially making corn growing an unprofitable venture in Mexico. So that isn't really saying much.

Check out motaco's excellent RUST, it has good info about Mexico: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=36181

Also a couple of documentaries about the subject have been made recently and you might be interested in checking them out. They seem to pretty much say the same things though. Here is one made by the BBC:

One of my friends copped some swag downtown that smelled like lemon lysol. The idiots had some idea of it increasing the potency of it...likely to ruin peoples lungs..but most of the Mexican brickweed is not doped...they are to cheap to even let it mature much less spend money adding dope to it....most brickweed needs to be grown another week or so and it has all seeded already. Never seen it fully grown out but if it was seedless (sensimillia) might be some decent weed. They used to sell seedless weed back in the day in the south. Some of it was on long sticks with buds on it they (the local dealers) called Meshmekon or Woehaukcan (sp) . Some was wrapped in colored transparent cellophone. Sticks were about 14 inches long. Decent weed but expensive....there was a fun weed but it got to hurting after a while. They called it laugh weed and it would get the hardest bastard laughing his ass off. Laughed so hard your sides would hurt....hard to stop laughing too...haven't seen that for many years...

Remember, as cheap and plentiful as it is - Buying brickweed is financing cartels and causing excessive heat on the US in doing so. And most brickweed dealers also sell hard drugs and have no problem selling both to kids. I refuse to support cartel drugs. If we all stopped buying from them, the heat would back down and the market for local weed would increase making us all a little better off. The smoker would get better weed and the dealer would have more customers. All it would take is a two year boycott of cartel products to slow this drug war way down...cops might have to lay off a bunch of pigs also increasing the possibility to buy weed without being busted. We do have control of the market if we assert it. Think before you buy...
