Brewing is good

That looks like a setup to be proud of JoH!
I really like the idea of a company doing all the leg work in producing a lager for you treble, and I can see why it would be a good business. I enjoy the DIY aspect of it aswell.
I have three 5 gallon brewing buckets (why haven't they each got a hydro weed plant in I hear some ask) which are mostly on the go when I have time and money to buy the kits.
I have two 6.2 gallon kegs, which will soon be incorporated into a kegulator (chest freezer with thermal control to stop the beer freezing, and bar taps sticking out the top) when I have time after my exams. That will get me 2 degree centigrade lager with a purrrrrfect head on each time, mmmm mmmm!
I was reading up on the limits of what I can brew in a year the other day,and was glad to find out, my limits in UK are:
250 gallons wine or lager
Seperate to this, I can legally produce a whopping 1,500 gallons of cider at home if I had the balls to try. This is an old law in england that still stands and gives a person the right to, presumably get his whole village trollied on cider if he can!

My recipes are generally posted in the cannabis brewers forum Mr. Mullet.. beware that they don't contain any trace of cannabis (yet) unlike their brewer :D I think the IPA and Stout recipes that I posted are certainly worth trying if you like high octane brews :friends:

It is natural for us to want to manufacture our own buzz, we grow and some of us brew, its a beautiful thing. More over when you make your own beers you are not putting money into the pockets of large brewerys such as anheuser busch. In my case i started home brewing after falling in love with Westmalle's dubbel and trippel, where I live in the states it costs $5.00 a bottle, but doing an all grain batch I get approx 108 bottles for approx $40.00, and i have come up with something very very close to the Trappists. It also helps that a local business is "brew & grow", talk about a one stop shop. I started out doing extract brewing 4 years ago, a freind of mine got me in with a homebrew club and after being taken under the wings of a few very good brewmasters now most of my fermentables come from doing all grain (though i do add such things as belgian candy syrup, honey and occasionally molasses to my brews) which makes for a long brew day. When I was extract brewing the day took 3 hours start to putting the airlock into the fermenter, now it takes 8 just to do a proper step mash, sparge, boil and cooldown (though the copper wort chiller i have aquired makes the cooldown only take about 5 mins) the best part is knowing what is in the beer and that it, like my herb is all natural.

Lol @ mean mr mustard! I think if you were using mj to brew with, you would want to create an extract, rather like an oil, for best flavour. When you get a brewkit, you sometimes get a hops extract sachet to add.
If you just added straight bud it would turn the beer because of the alien components in the bud. An oil extract however, might really make a nice smooth difference to your brew!

My cider came in at 6.75% in the end. Its a little cloudy which is how I like at, and averagely fizzy, again perfect for my tastes.

It's been discussed whether or not to water cure the nasties out of your buds before use in brewing. The Bastard Brewer recommends bubblehash... which is an extract of sorts.

Your cider sounds good... what kind of yeast did you use?

Mean Mr. Mustard - I used a sachet that came with the kit that simply had "cider yeast" on it. I have heard that champagne yeast works well for cider, as the higher percentages involved can sometimes stop fermentation early, and also champagne yeast doesn't allow the cider to go as dry if you know what I mean.
I would describe my cider as a medium, so the yeast obviously did its job.
