Bree's first Aero grow... with Yeast CO2

Hello Everyone...... specially my friends.......

Hello Everyone...... specially my friends.......

I totally agree with you Pod Racer. When I break down sometimes I get a very sour smell from some of the jiffy cubes left over. Not too often but often enough to want to use something different. I had cloned for so long, I barely knew how to start a seed any more. I said on one thread that I hated starting beans and then they reminded me of the anticipation and suspense and they were right.

Well I have bad news. I broke my camera. I won't be able to get a replacement for about 2 weeks. :badday: I loved that camera although always wanted to get the 1-5x lens . Blow a trichome up to a whole screen...... Nice no more jeweler's loupe.

I should really have some buddage going on by the time I get the replacement and my AK and SD IBL should be looking awesome.

The reason for the bending is I built this system for the clones to go right in as soon as the roots were well set and give them a week to acclimate and then 12/12. I didn't expect to grow the seed mothers out all the way but they were so pretty I just couldn't murder them. The clones kept growing and burned on the floros. Really weird, the lamps themselves turned black in spots on the inside. Never saw that before....... anyway. The plants are too tall. I wanted just short clones but now I have full size plants. I only have eight feet in the room for head room. I have bent them 7 times now. I do some bending anyway as a way to shift the aux-ins to the lower branches and get more tops but never this much. I truly have a growing tip in all but a few inches in the whole canopy. You can't see it in the picks but under the canopy the stems zig zag back and forth. It will be interesting to see what the effect it will have on yield. Actually I like unexpected things like this to see different things. I am not a gram per watt type. Some times I just sit in my little misplaced piece of Hawaii sort of day dream. Not to say I don't like to produce as well but that is not my main point in growing. I will do the tubes the right way next time if I haven't converted to TAG by then. Following very closely.

I really don't care about the Hi-Jack thing. Say what you all want to say. I love lots of discourse. That is what we are here for. Will never get upset about that type of thing unless people are rude to each other...... Never could understand that on a MJ oriented forum. Are we not some of the last of a few accepting and open minded people on this rock.

Sorry about the pics maybe I can borrow a camera. Don't want to lose everyone. Words just don't say it like pictures.

Well thank you all for the kind words.

Peace

Eye candy for you, I hate a day without color

Yeah Bree, that totally sucks. Interesting about the bending. If you don't mind me offering a suggestion, cause you know I always have something to add - no wonder no one likes me. :bat:
But I would think you might have better success if you want to run that same rig and clones again by topping and tying. Or Scrogging for sure as that seems to be what you are doing without the scrog.
However cutting the main stem would dwarf the plant as it channels all the auxin and growth energy to the next highest limb. That being a twin pair usually, tie the limbs out (looping a string from one to the other under your tube) so that they are the same height as the set of branches below. you can do this as much as you want, but usually once is enough. This will force the plant to divid its energy into 4 or 6 colas off that main stem while the twin leafs in the center regain the highest point.
If you do all this going into flower it seems to make them grow like a bowl. Never getting any higher than 3 feet and all massive colas. Like here (I'll fill you up with visuals today)

This is topped and two weeks later...all new growth. These are a set of 8 White Widows in my pod.

These I just topped and used a HPS really close with side deflectors. I was maximizing the lumen in this pod. Blew the fuckin' roof off as you see. :woohoo:

In TAG (if you convert) you end up with 5 or 7 of these in about 8 weeks.

I wanted to ask you what lamp are you using? I didn't catch that part.

Hello Pod Racer and everyone....... Thanks Rule :0(

Hello Pod Racer and everyone....... Thanks Rule :0(

Always feel free to put your 2 cents in...... course with you Pod it is more like dollars..... and I mean that in a good way. I like your idea Pod, I was going to try something like that but recovered them way to long. IGT and I have a lot in common....... :pointlaug

I use HPS (Hortilux eye). Expensive but I think worth the extra dollars. What do you use. I use the MH version for vegging and HPS for flowers. I know some use the HPS for both due to the higher lumen output but I like the way they look and grow, plus I don't feel guilty about not recoloring the photos because of the orange-red. :badday: I know I should but I just get lazy.

Thanks for the ideas and feedback. It is always welcome whether constructive critizism or praise. Both help me out.

And I seriously am thinking of converting, starting to browse for the equipment.

Peace

I asked because I use a Full Spectrum HPS which I find give very little stretch if any. Only about 12" or so. Might be a better idea for that low ceiling was all. I veg and flower under them and never get above 36". But thick colas like you saw. Just thinking out loud.

Those are nice colas Pod......

Which light bulb do you use? I thought the Hortilux was one of the best. Always open to new ideas. That is why I am here. I always thought it would be great to have one of those double hoods so that I could put a MH and HPS in the same hood. Plus the pics would look really nice with a full spectrum bulb or double hood. One light bulb for my little space would be better though unless it was two smaller wattages.

Never hesitate to post, put pics, give ideas, or bring up topics on the threads I start. I didn't know that they called that HiJacking. I probably owe some people apologies. (IGT) That is why I come here is for the mutual discourse and am not offended by others input. Except, I have seen some get rude on some forums but I just tell them. In the past, they must have been pretty grouchy. Your input has been experienced based and much appreciated by myself and it seem like all the others too. Of course some will disagree with concepts or ideas but haven't seen many do that with you.

Peace

I just think a lot of people have a really hard time with accepting new ideas, which is odd for pot smokers I would have to agree. I think there are just a lot of bored kids with a lot of time on their hands to just make trouble because no one is home watching out for them or paying any attention. The way a dog will shit on your carpet because you keep ignoring him.
Anyhow I know the definition of a forum, so I try to contribute. Speaking of which - I use a horilux as well, though actually I'm running a new bulb that is suppose to be a little brighter if you can believe that.
The truth is I have never tried MH alone and my bitches are always so freakin' huge I don't see any reason to worry about it. The only issue I have is concern over stretch as sometime I have Zero! :yoinks:
That is why I asked, as I found that vegging under Floros I get a nice even development for cuts and moving into flower and once under HPS full spectrum they stretch very little at close range.

As an example I developed this 'Wonder Twin' Pod I called it with styrofoam baffles that reflected all light down into the canopy. I vented the top of the light into my res. for evaporative cooling. The entire deal was based on trying to create a perfect loop like a circle as I knew it would make the plants go turbo. Which they did.

This is they going in after vegging under full spectrum floros.

Sort of like blowing into someone's lungs and sucking the air out while they breath to assist them and with every breath its perfectly measured to deliver precisely the exactly right amount of O2, N, Co2, et al.

I see a lot of stretch, so I was curious where that came from as I don't get anything like that, but it might be my strains and trimming.

Oh no, that was most unexpected. I would think in case of a bust who would have time to delete their account?! Im sure Bree is fine. Having said that, Bree did have a few other things going on so I hope it's nothing. Let us know you are ok man!!!

Hello Everyone,

I have been wanting to do this thread for a long time now. There has been a lot of interest in the success of the Yeast CO2 and I have had a lot of interest in switching to Aero. (thanks a lot to ItsGrowTime and TBug)

I have been doing the same thing for the past five or six years in the same room and had it dialed in fairly well but am a bit bored so am going to give the Aero a try.

I want to first start out introducing the Yeast CO2 method I have been using, then show a little on how I set up my Aero system/room. Then get into the grow.

I have ten Dutch Passion Blueberries going right now. I have only had one grow with BB and not too satisfied..... hermies, mutations, etc. Despite optimal conditions. I picked the best one and cloned the ten off it. They are in very sorry shape... I didn't plan to continue due to the mutations and hermies and my favorite Serious AK seeds became available but they perked up and grew into lovely ladies and I couldn't murder them. So the clones stayed in the nursery too long while the BBs finished out. The nursery only has a 2.5 ft ceiling so they burnt pretty bad on the floros. I am hoping that by the time I introduce the other aspects of the grow they will be presentable enough to post on here without getting laughed off the site.

I would like lots of feedback and constructive criticism and things I have not thought of yet. So we will start with the next post.

Peace
