Hey everyone,

I am looking to build out my 2 car garage. I'll be honest, I am not a good with building stuff out, so i am planning to have a regular constructor just build out my garage insulation, drywall etc... I am planning to instal 9-10 1000W lights in there. What size AC unit will work for me? and approximately how many amps will it use (the whole operation). I need to decide if it's even possible to run this many lights, with everything else though my electrical panel (currently I have 200v).

Sorry If my questions sounds dumb.

Thank you,

depends on your external heat gain.

but your internal heat gain would be around 34k btuh for the 10 lights alone.

id suggest a cursory manual J heat load calculation prior to buying any equiopment.

no clue what the scope of your proposed build is... but if you altering or enlarging the structure or roof, you might consider something like a bulkhead truss aka plenum truss for your hvac equipment.
