Brain washed?

G

Guest

Do you think that everyone is brain washed? I mean dont we all believe, what we were taught? Dont we do what we know? There are things we believe that we never explore.
The world is all fucked up and most people go along with it.
It may sound crazy but, I am starting to believe that, if you get up and go to work everyday, you are going along.

Are we not brain washed into thinking that, life as we know it, is the only way?
Life is, how it is, so that there can be rich people. And not just a little rich but, filthy rich. And we love it! We love the rich people.
The rich would lead you to think that it is a possibility for anyone to be anything. For us to use them as examples of the possibilities.

Whether you are rich or poor. Is a life spent working towards personal gain and status really what we should be doing?

Is your neck not sore from reaching for the carrot?
Is there no way out?

I agree...we are too fascinated with the rich and famous when what we should really be thinking about is how to make our lives and the lives of those around us better.

A couple years ago I volunteered at the local Boys and Gilrs club. I would just hang out with all the kids and play pool, table tennis, basketball and help them with homework. It was a very good experience for me and was very rewarding.

Even when I was working 40 hours a week I never earned more than $500 a week..and I got along just fine..I paid my bills and had enough left over to splurge on herb, video games, music, and dining out.

What's the point of accumulating all that wealth and material stuff...you can't take it with you ya know

while it is good to have nice things and be comfortable financially it isnt why were are here or what are lives should revolve around . Most people are busy trying to keep up with the Jones. But what most dont realize is that the Jones have a 2nd mortgage on their home , a few personal loans and a car with a 7 year loan since they cant afford the payments and an interst only mortgage on their home since they cant really afford where they live. Most people that have big homes and fancy cars dont have a positive net worth ( unless they live in a nice area that appreciates and havent cashed out 100% of equity in their homes)

If you have 6 months cashed saved up then you are pretty much better off than 80% of people in this country. When you look at Tv its all a fantasy land. Rented cars in rap videos which people dont realize so they try to get one. Its all a game that business wants you to play.

Look at christmas. its the biggest made up holiday ever. A bishop writes a BS story that he made up and took St. Nick and Cinder Clause and turned them into Santa and stores used it to sell more shit. There isnt really a good reason to have christmas since jesus wanst born on that day and their aint no such thing as Santa. But peopel run out and put themselves in debt to get a bettr light show than their neighbors. Just silly.

While i have had my share of being greedy and driven by money in my life only as i get older and have money do i see that its not that important. Money dont make you happy, it dont make people actually like you more ( they pretend to get something from you) , it dont keep you company and will never ask how youre doing. I have went shopping many weekends in many nice cities by myself. You can buy and bbuy but doing it alone aint that much fun.

It took a girl that has known me since i was a broke 16 year old to show me that money is a rat race and to enjoy life. rather than seeing who can have the most toys in the end. You cant take it with you, really. So enjoy life while you can. You can die any second and at least if you go you can make sure you are happy when you go

I didnt start this about money, lol. Money is an example of the way we are brain washed.

It is not a matter of getting up and working a 40 hr week and how much you make in that week. It is why do we live the way we do at all?
Life as we know it has not been around long. We are witness, in the last, lets say 80 years to some never before seen change. And while alot of it is fun and makes life easier and more comfortable, the world is going down. We have been taught to be greedy. Not all of us... but most! And believe me, I have been trying to repair the damage of my youth, my whole adult life!

If you can live off of $500 a week. And I personally know that you can! Why would someone stand by while others have so much. Because it is hard to live on much less and because some take so much alot are left with nothing much to work with.
Why is a Doctor more impotant to the community than a garbage man?
Both are vital to civilized society.

But it goes way deeper than money

Yea, and I have contemplated these things before. I have come to the conclusion, is (and it is blatantly obvious), we only know the things we know from previous experience. Experience is truly the best teacher, well apparently, because we wouldn't have a brain if we hadn't experienced anything. The only reason that we carry out our daily chores/errands/work and have the hobbies that we do is because we have done them before and have found they have a favorable and/or necessary outcome. I know alot are going to say, "Well I hate my job, yada yada yada", well you get what I'm saying still. And shut up, you should be glad you have one :)

But coming down to the point, we are nothing but animals. Our main function is the same as any other thing in this universe. To live and reproduce. Humans took it to a whole 'nother level, but that's what it all boils down to.

Calling a human an animal is like calling an insect a plant...we are clearly on a whole other level to animals, even though we are made of the same materials.

I think we are the bridge from animal life to the new form of intelligence whatever that may be.

My point is that AS animals, our basic function is to live and reproduce. That is the basic function of any living organism this world over. I don't think of humans as just animals, not at all.

And no Gangabiss, that certainly isn't true. Homo sapiens ssp. is an animal. An insect is NOT a plant, as an insect is an animal and a plant is not an animal. Like I said I didn't mean for it to sound like I'm saying that's all we are as a whole. I guess the phrase, "nothing but" kinda fucked that one up.

buy some land in a remote area of Alaska, or Canada, or ...

and subsist from the land (build ya a cabin, hunt yer own food, grow yer own veggies and herbs, cut yer own firewood, etc...)

you dont have to play the role that soceity has created for you.

NO it's not easy, but far more simple and far more rewarding.

just my 2cents

Its not what I do YET, but It's the only thing I desire to do, and I'm working towards it.

I could subsist w/ about 4000 dollars a year if I had no bills, and owned my land. (most everything coming from the land)

There are lots of ways to come up w/ 4000 dollars a year w/ out playing soceities games (for me I'll commercial fish a cpl. months a year).

ya, if i didnt have a family to think about i would do something like that in a heartbeat. truth of the matter is most of us are too socially conditioned to pursue a life like that. what do you do if you cant catch an animal? and theres no jack in the box in site?

Food gathering isn't a daily activity like it is for the masses.(the thought of it is tho)

1 moose/caribou , some small game, a few big halibut, and some salmon, could easily get get ya through the year.
...if you cant come up w/ what ya need then you go without.
