I never said that there isn't anything cruel or worthy of mockery in kazakhstan. I just don't really view kazakhstan as the main subject of his humor. You have to admit someone has to be retarded or just completely unaware culturally to take borat as a real guy from kazakhstan and yet a whole country western bar enthusiastically sang along with a song called "throw the jew down the well" or cheer when he says he hopes "premier bush drinks the blood of every iraqi". You have to admit stuff like this is making a much more powerful statement and more genius than remarks the character makes about women.

Yeah, Borat may have seemed crazy, but is that any reason to punch someone in the face? I don't think so. If a crazy person comes up to me in the street, I walk away, I don't punch them in the face.

Bystander punched Borat in face
November 14, 2006
COMEDIAN Sacha Baron Cohen was bashed by a passer-by in New York after he tried to play a prank as his alter ego, Borat.
According to London's Sun newspaper Cohen, adopting the character of Borat, the Kazakhstani TV reporter, approached the man and said: "I like your clothings. Are nice! Please may I buying? I want have sex with it."
But the bystander didn't see the joke and punched Cohen in the face.
The comedian was struck again and again before being rescued by actor friend (and star of Ten series House) Hugh Laurie, who was accompanying Cohen to a New York bar.
The newspaper quotes a friend of Cohen as saying:"Sacha couldn't resist playing the fool as Borat, but picked on the wrong person".
The reported incident took place after Laurie and Cohen appeared on the US TV show Saturday Night Live late last month.
Cohen is currently in Australia promoting his successful spoof movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
Studio chiefs have warned Cohen to avoid pretending to be Borat on the street.
Since his film was launched he has only appeared in character while promoting the movie.
Jeraldo Riveria is verifiering on his syndicated national TV today (probably, maybe, kinda happened), he's is reporting Borat did get his ass whomped on by a pissed off New Yawker, he would have punched the friggin' idiot also if it was him, but of course Jeraldo's Balls are quite large according to the various ex-wife reports...

I live in the u.s and about two years ago. The next county over was having a budget crisis so they actually the county prosecutor publicly stated that he'd picked domestic violence cases as the ones to stop prosecuting to save money for the county. He basically legalized spouse abuse for a whole year.
When I was 19 I lived in alphabet city and found myself out at 2am frequently and never felt the need to punch someone. I even walked by bellevue going to a leaving work everyday. I only lived there just under a year though nyc manhattan especially is sink or swim and I most definitely sank. The whole time I lived ther my nose was clogged from air pollution.
