Conversations With God. Neil Donald Walsch. Once you read this book your life is changed forever.

The Lord of the Rings. J.R.R. Tolkein. Perhaps one of the best works of the 20th century for fiction that is suitable for all ages to read.

The Sum of All Fears. Tom Clancy. The possibility of an accidental nuclear holocaust is beyond anything you can imagine and here it becomes so real you will be unable to put down the book.

The Forgotten Solider. Guy Sajer. The story of a common German soldier in WWII assigned to Germany's most elite army infantry division and the holocaust of his life on the Eastern Front.

The Bourne Identity. Robert Ludlum. A master spymaster suspense writer who built a whole series of books around one amazing character.

Pillars of the Earth. Ken Follett. A master storyteller, Follett spins a yarn about village life in the 1500's.

Both are well researched and have not even been challenged. I spent considerable time trying to verify some of the information in Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, also by Sutton, also worth reading - although a challenging read (Graduate level).

Stalingrad. by Antony Beevor.

after reading this you will never complain about not having comfortable this or that, or the quality of your food....
yet, despite being surrounded on all sides by the Russians and destined to die, a german soldier painted the famous 'Black Madonna of Stalingrad', it can still be seen in a Berlin church. apparently veterans who visit burst into uncontrollable grief when looking at it.

A really, really well written and researched book.
