Bong Water Stainin My 'Stache...

Put this on the list of the trials and tribulations of getting older....

I've got a goatee beard, and as I have gotten older, it has grown progessively towards the white side. This includes the mustache part of the beard, which is mostly white....like 90%.

When I rip bong hits, and clear the chamber, I suck up some bong water (the bong is a relatively short one, about 9" of glass between the top of the water and my mouth. This bong water ends up leaving a dark brown stain on the white 'stache. This happens even when I keep the water pretty clean.

I forget to check for this stain sometimes before I leave the house and walk around in public with this ugly ass brown stain on my face. Eeeewwwww.

my advice . . . coming from similar experiences . . . is never leave the house without a good look in the mirror . . . and keep a lil bit of rubbing alcohol by the sink . . . it gets out even the nastiest resin stains!

I do appreciate the benefit of water in my bongs though, the little extra filtering it provides seems to be an upside.

I haven't had the dirty 'stache problem yet myself, good thing I've got a tall bong.

Gotta remember to check the mirror more often though, eyes been getting shot pretty bad this past week for some reason, probably allergy related but still...

Ick, I hate when the joint poops in your mouth. Maybe you are just talking about when it leaves a little, and you get that wonderful flavor...but I hate it when it drops all the resin onto your lips or teeth and you start gagging. That is the worst, specially when you go out in public afterwards without realizing it is there (or being too high to remember).

I hate pulling bong water all the way up and having it slap you in the face. That is why I do not like tiny little bongs. My buddy once got an entire mouthful and swallowed it by reflex. He blew chunks all over his yard, quite comical.

Agreed, I try to avoid bongs smaller then 18 inches, but don't even really like hitting anything smaller then a 2 footer.
OP- I'd suggest springing for a new bong, I find bigger bongs let the smoke expand more withing the larger sized tube which creates a smoother, cooler hit.

you can get a "silver one" . . . or at least chrome . . . of what we use . . .

our current favorite is the Rok-it . . . it's not "glass on glass" like seems to be all the rage these days . . . but stainless steel doesn't seem to add any flavor . . . and it's certainly durable . . .

I get this sometimes on my lips pulling tubes and found its from the smoke and not the water. Some strains do it worse than others. Usually Im drinking a pepsi so I can use it to strip off the resin layer on my lips or follow it up with a napkin wipe. I also tried pulling slower [ not smaller ] hits so the smoke wasnt as concentrated and that seemed to help too. You can 'test' a strain by using a clean old white sock over the mouth piece before you pull a regular hit and see how much it tars up.
