Bogglegum Hempy Style under 252w of CFL/PLL's

Few more shots I just took from today, day 22 officially(forgot how many days February has so I might have mislabeled the date on the last pics :p.
The lights are within inches on all sides of the tops/main cola:

Some of the lower growth is really filling in now:

Closeup of the three tops, nice trick coverage for 3 weeks(my cam does not do it justice):

Anyway, gave them a nice watering today and it seems they are done stretching. No vertical growth in the past two days really, at least nothing noticeable. That means now its time for them to fatten up for about the next 5 weeks! Should be able to harvest, dry and give them some curing by 4/20, that is the goal at least.

Beautiful plants man! I think to get good trich shots you need to place a light directly on the plant so it shines back into the camera. I'm no pro photographer so I could be completely off base here, but I'm pretty sure lighting will make a big difference. That said, the plants still look wonderful!

Beautiful, Buds my friend, Bogglegum mmmmm sounds good, I use a promix (organic) and I find simply, out of soil means faster growth, I believe this is because of the oxygen availible, I still think soil gives the plant a specific flavour that hydro nutes cant,

Do you agree?

Namaste :joint:

I used to grow in this same box/same Boggleum Clones with less lights using soil. The soil was FFOF with like 20-30% added perlite and I was using the FF trio of nutrients. Overall so far the hempy buckets/Lucas formula have grown much much faster but as far as the taste/end product I do not know yet until I harvest these plants but I will be sure to compare when I do!

dang, those bog strains really are fast
looking killer

Yeah definitely, everything I have tried/seen from BOG has lived up the expectations/been exactly as advertised. He really does a bang up job with the seeds and genetics. Bogglegum is a true 8 week strain meaning 54-56 day flower or less(under ideal circumstances of course). I have seen some people say they have Bogglegum clones that finish in 45 days When I was growing these same clones in soil it was taking about 9 weeks to flower out how I like it(I think some of my training/LST was slowing it down a little adding on that extra week, also I was only using 156w of CFLs) but I have a feeling in these hempy buckets under the 252w lighting they are going to be ready right about 8 weeks.

Hey 100% Dundee those Bogglegums are looking really nice man :good: I had a BOG Lifesaver pheno that consistently finished inside 50 days with a good amount of amber trichs...One of the few strains that actually matched the growing time/smell/taste exactly like the breeder described. BOG makes great weed seed

Nice grow! Can you break down your buckets for me? what are they? and how full till the drain? Also how tall are those flowering out from the bottom of the bucket to the top? I think I am going to have to pick up some of that BG now. Good stuff.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, glad that everyone is liking what they see :).

Nice grow! Can you break down your buckets for me? what are they? and how full till the drain? Also how tall are those flowering out from the bottom of the bucket to the top? I think I am going to have to pick up some of that BG now. Good stuff.

The containers/buckets themselves are made from the 1.75 liter plastic bottles of "Simply Lemonade" or "Simply Limeade" that you buy from any grocery store basically. I use them because I have them sitting around(the drinks are delicious :)), they are a pretty good size and because they are square. I take them and cut the top off so its just a square container, spraypaint the outsides black and just make a small hole in the side for drainage. Just like any other hempy bucket just made with some leftover square juice bottles :). The ratio I use for my hempy buckets is 3xPerlite to 1xVermiculite, fairly standard as well. I just water them until I get a drip or two of runoff every 2-3 days, usually about 8-10oz of lucas formula per plant does the trick.

The plants are currently about 14"-15" tall from the top of the hempy buckets to the top of the main colas. The containers are about 5"-6" tall each so I guess total(plant and container) each one is about 20"-21" tall. I haven't actually measured them but that sounds right. I think these went a little too big, ideally I want to have a nice even canopy like an inch below my bulbs, currently with these girls I am tucking them between the bulbs and bending them over with string haha. That is why I am going to experiment with container sizes and heights of clones that I put into flower, eventually I will find that "Sweet Spot" with the perfect container size and perfect flowering height for my particular grow box.

Very Very nice Dundee :good: How's the smell anything unusual or unique?

:rasta:Chomp

This bogglegum is fairly low odor, I run the box without a carbon scrubber of any sort and never really have to worry about it. Only time I smell anything is when the lights just go off, they give off a little wiff of just "fresh smelling plant" scent at that point. On the other hand if you fondle the plants a little moving them around/taking pictures/etc your hands do start to smell very fruity and slightly pungent, its overall very pleasant.

Day 33 of 12/12 now for these girls, pics taken tonight. Looking just as lovely as ever, fattening up really nice. They are drinking anything/everything I give them no questions asked, very very pleased with the hempy buckets.

All three as they look normally, tucked in/around the bulbs:

Closer pics of the top colas, from Left to right:

Heres a little sneak peak at the other container size I am trying out currently, 32oz Powerade bottle cut down a little so probably about ~28oz. ~10-12 days of 12/12 in this pic

And last but not least a pic of my mother, have not shown her off at all since the first post. Ready to give off a bunch of nice, mature, alternating node clones whenever I need :).

In other news, I am thinking about grabbing some 1inch rockwool cubes to take clones in so I can have something a little more reliable/time efficient. Currently I am just placing my clones in little miniature versions of hempy buckets with primarily perlite(a little vermiculite to retain moisture) and while it is super easy and cheap, I am getting mixed results. A few of my clones of have refused to root at all this way, some are taking extra long to root and some are rooting just fine in ~7 days. I am worried the inconsistencies will throw off my flower cycles once I get this box going perpetually again if I keep cloning this way. Ill play around and see what I cant figure out.

Alrighty I think I figured out a ghetto little cloning solution that might work a bit better than my current procedures. I made a homemade version of the "walmart cloner" that is super popular/has a huge thread here on the forums since it seemed to work very well. My version consists of some ~3" long sections of 3/4" pvc piping as the "tubes" or clone sites. I took a piece of foam board and cut it to the size of the inside diameter of one of my tupperware containers so that it will sit nice and snugly in there. Cut a few holes in that piece of foam board, shove those pvc tubes in the holes, glue it all up and voila you have a cheap homemade custom tailored "walmart cloner".

All I did after that was fill the tubes up with some perlite/vermiculte mixture, fill the tupperware up with about 1/2" plain tap water and dropped two clones right into it. With any luck/if it performs similarly to the "walmart cloner" I should see some roots in 7-10 days. Provided it works, I will probably build one or two more and post some pics of them/the process since it can be tailored easily and cheaply to any size container/grow space for easy cloning.

If the event of it not working, you guys can disregard this post entirely. Hahah.
