i'll take a wild swing, say... 12g dry, could be way off though.
remind me, how long was she vegged? i guess it's not all bad considering she could have been a write-off, if left in the soil.

keep us posted on the young un's.

She was vegged for quite some time in soil but was growing really poorly, she was maybe 15cm tall when she was transplanted to hydro. She was limp and pale looking, I almost thought she was a mutant.

General consensus is that you lose about 70-80% of weight when drying so I'm looking at around about the 20g mark. what they hey, that will last me some time though.

I think that once my current 12/12 grow comes to an end I'll try a 2 plant (Female seeds ) bubbler grow. This time round I'll veg them for about 4/6 weeks before putting into 12/12. I'm hoping that by then I'll have a 400W MH bulb to go into my system, that will help with veg...

Hey all, just thought I'd pop u post to say that I've trimmed my GF and am now curing her.

Also in my grow I've found my first set of blokes' nuts!! Yup, the girl/guy countdown starts now....

Here ya go,








She is smelling sweet as right now!! A real sour/sweet grapefroooooty aroma. I'm looking forward to giving her a test, maybe in a week or so. Til then I'll be opening up her new home for about 6 hours a day in a cool dark place, with a gente toss once in a while.

I got about another 45 minutes to go until the lights come on, I'll then take some pics of the guy that I found.

Vacuum flask? It is if you consider a vaccuum flask airtight, one of those ones with the rubber seal and latch.

It is not if you think a vacuum flask is something that removes the air from inside.

It is not anything fancy, I got this at Clicks on special at R29.99. It seems to be good size to cater for one reasonably sized plant worth of bud. The other ones I've got are are glass with the rubber seal and latch on top. These are not that great for holding the weed cause it allows light throw, whereas the new does not let diddlysquat through.

Thanks for the interest, what are you using to cure your Ganj. In fact, what is everyone using to cure their ganj??? and what kind of results are getting?

ok i thought it was one of those 'food saver' type jars with a vacuum pump on the side.

i use consol canning jars and rings from the second-hand shop (cleaned properly of course), and the lids i buy new. i like transparent glass because i can inspect for condensation without opening them, and i keep them in my darkroom which is pitch-black.

Nice.

I have not seen one those types of jars, but I guess I could probably find something lke that at Verimark or such type of place.

Do you think that vacuum sealing would enhance or hinder the maturing process?

I use those lock and lock plastic things. :(
Contemplating GonG type stash jars though.

i've seen them around, but i've never liked the idea of putting a vacuum on my buds... as far as i know, those precious volatile organic compounds vapourise at a much lower temperature when they are under a vacuum, kind of like butane boiling in a dish at room temp. surely the voc's get vaped straight out of the trichomes?

I tried some of that Grapefruit yesterday and it is sweet as!! A creepy stone that gives a nice energy buzz, my chick smoked some and after that and a JD she tell sme she feels ill and goes off to bed, complaining that the weed is too strong!! Guess that Hydro is bit too pokey for her, what I'll have to do is do a soil grow alongside as she tended to prefer the gentler touch...

Also I was in a nursery yesterday looking at lawn dressing and the such, and notieced a bag of top soil that had broken. I had a closer look and noticed that this top soil contains no bark and is very fine nice looking soil. All the other soils (potting, herb, seedling etc)I've seen all contain bark to a degree which is apparently not liked too much by the weed. Mixed in with a little perlite I reckon it will work a charm.

Anyone out there tried this??

cool, glad to hear the smoke was very good :D

what is the brand of this soil, is the purpose on the packaging "Lawn Top Soil" or something to that effect?

should work out fine with lots of perlite ;)

hey mz, do you notice any change in the flavour after the buds have been under vacuum?

does anyone else have a worm farm? castings is the shit, mix with perlite for a classic medium.

No real change in the flavour. Just smoother. Just smoked some swaz. And I took some monster hits. No coughing which is a surprise for me, Mr BongLungButter.
We're not talking a massive vacuum though. Just get a bit of a vacuum. Besides, getting rid of the number one key in oxidation can't be bad.

Edit:
I have big plans for a worm farm when I move out of my townhouse. I started dabbling when I sold my last place.

i'm also hitting the swaz right now, i sacrificed a few buds for some dry-sift to roll up in a fatty, mmm what an indulgence
i've got about 50 liters of eisenia fetida and growing fast.
