Blumat auto watering

i got the dutch master zone - popped in the rezzie, we'll see how this works :)

You know, at one point I was using zone - but I think I still was when I first started noticing. As long as you're not using the distribution drippers you'll be fine.

So is the general consensus that plain water only is the best bet? Anyone tried these with the Canna line and had any success? Still trying to find these online from a reputable source here in the US, will check out that link posted above. :tiphat:

Lazyman,

How many plants are you running per reservoir with the blumats? How big is your res and how long does it last without having to top off again? I'm on page 29 of your thread by the way :)

It really depends on who you ask.

Lazyman will tell you no organic nutes. I will tell you the PBP line works great in them, but keep an eye on everything if you use Liquid Karma in your regimine.

How big are your pots? The only reason why I asked Lazy is because I know he runs high numbers in his warehouse. I'm setting up a legal 15x13 room soon and will have 18 trees in 5 gallon smart pots filled with coco.

I'm grow two plants at a time my reservoir holds 7 gallons and I refill it when it get down to 2 or 3 gallons so that I maintain water presser and so that I do not suck air into the feeder line.
While the two plants were in full bloom they would use ~5 gallons of water in 6 to 7 days.
But that amount would be different with the stain, the size of the plant, size of pot, room humidity, surface area of the leaves, etc.

I am using the full canna line (A+B, Rizo, Zyme, Boost, and protekt silicate) with no clogging issues. I do drain my rez with a transfer pump every few weeks just to keep it extra clean.

I also use the h3ad 6/9 gh flora with no clogging issues. The only issue I had was when I put hygrozyme in my rez.

I think that you can use most synthetics just fine. My clogging problem has only been since I started using the distrubution drippers - they were getting clogged.

Sunnydog, when you had them clog outside - was it straight water being run through them?

Sort of.....
So much crap found it's way into the res (including a rat or two) and organic bioslime must have developed in the lines (approx.300 ft. of supply line).
I decided it was not worth it.https://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/16370P7050017.JPG

Ah, makes sense, theoretically the ideal set up for these would be using collected rainwater but it'd be way too easy for debris to throw a monkey wrench in the whole thing. I think I'm going to give them one more try with just water (osmocote plus and pro mix for soil) and see because I'd really rather use my extra sensors for something else, or maybe straight gh lucas formula. Anyone else using the distribution drippers with nutes and not having any problems?

What happened? I put some in after I saw the snot but only in my little rez not the main one. Thought it might eat some of that stuff but maybe not?

Rainwater was used. Worked awesome, actually.
Had a foam filter for the inlet, but the slime is the enemy.

First off, thanks for compiling such an informative thread. I have made the switch from hand watering to blumats because of the information contained here. I am getting great results and I keep finding little ways to tweak the system further. In my system I am continually adding new girls to my flowering box and I have now started to harvest a few. I didn't have enough new girls ready and I am wondering what do with extra blumats in the mean time. It should only be a week at most. Can I just turn the blumat to its minimum setting and let it hang? Currently my solution has been to cut the plant but leave the pot and soil with the blumat in it. Anyone have any experiences or suggestions?

Yeah, this is definately some kind of slime, really doesn't look like what I'd expect nutrient build up to look like. What do you think about this, take the screws out of each dripper, add an extra one at the very end (just like an inch from where the last one is now), screw it all the way down and let it clog all it wants. That should create the pressure to drip out of the others no? I can foresee it being a big problem is one of the sensors gets stuck open though! I'm gonna test it on one asap.
