Blumat auto watering

Took a look at these, None seem to have the "only delivers water as needed" feature that is central to the blumat appeal.
I am guessing these would be difficult if not impossible to dial in properly.
Was worth having a look, though.

:thank you:

I didnt know that about the blumats, Knowing this I dont think i would settle for anything less

Hey all,

I have installed my Blumats in my bonsai moms about a week ago.. The moms are in 4 inch round pots. I normally would have had to water 3 times a week but haven't had to since the Blumats were installed.

Ok... my question is i have normally watered when the pots were on the lighter side. The Blumats seem to keep the pots on the lighter side about the same weight as when i would have usually watered. Is this normal for the Blumats?

You can dial them in to any wetness level you need.
I.e, wetter-add an arrow, drier, dial back a bit.
I have found slightly drier is better.
BTW...nice not to have to water,eh?!

Bro, I have thanked Sunnydog several times for showing the community these wonderful devices.

I hand watered my girls for over 15 years. Sometimes as many as 80 - 100 girls a night. These wonderful drippers have saved me SO much time, time that is very well spent keeping my grow clean and focusing on other aspects of the grow. I've gone from working 2 - 3 backbreaking hours moving plants around and watering and mixing nutes and shit, to about 5 minutes a day, topping off the rez.

Not only that, and a lot of people don't believe me, but from what I've personally observed, our plants actually PREFER to be watered with blumats as opposed to by hand. My own side by side comparison on exactly the same plants showed me so. The plants are happy EVERY single time I see them, and I don't have to do a damn thing.

Bar none, Tropf Blumats are THE best thing to come into my garden in over 15 years.

(A lot of my friends think I'm a sales rep for blumat. I'm not, I swear, these things are just so awesome and I think people who don't use them are really missing out.)

I know you cannot use anything but the blumat 3mm surgical tubing to pass through the blumat.

I imagine any other tubing in setting up would be just fine. Patio kits comes with 8mm tubing, but if you use the tees from kentsystems.com all you need is the blumats, 3mm tubing, and the tees to barb into larger tubing.

Unfortunately I could not purchase the box of 50 as all if the US sources I tried only had the patio kits in stock.

Hi All
My first post. Just wanted to thank you (sunnydog especially). I have 4 finishing rooms all with 8x600 and 30 plants. 3rd grow with coco on canna nutrients. Hand watering is hell! The nephew told me about this thread and I figure I am being saved. 7gal smart pots coming next week and I have contacted the canadian distributor about getting a couple hundred maxis.
My questions, if anyone can help, For a 7 gallon smart pot is anyone using 2 maxis. Does it make sense to use 2 maxis? For that size pot should I be using 1 maxi with 2 dripers?
Is any one using canna nutrients particularly canna boost with a blumat system. I s the problematic?
Thanks again.

Hi.
I have run 7-12 gal pots with very large plants OUTDOOR with 2 regular blumats, no problems!

Add me to the list of people that have a hard time getting these dialed in, but Im also not able to visit the plants every single day and get the blumats dialed in perfectly.

Even though, I have yet to master them, the plants that are on them, have done better than those without. I just can't get it just right to the point where I dont need to hand water the ones with blumats at some point. Eventually, the plants start to show some minor signs of water stress. This is when I water the blumat plants by hand.

What Id like to know is, when I see the blumats aren't giving enough water, should I thoroughly saturate the medium again and crank the blumats open one more arrow from the previous position? Or should I just adjust the blumats without saturating the medium again? The second option is what I often do, and it doesn't seem to be working too well for me.

If anyone can give some good advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.
