thats interesting question. I dont know cambodian much, but I would say that vietnamese, used in fathers of BLUE STING and KONA UPRISE, is more close to Thai than Laos... it is not racy or electric like Thai Stick though. but still very much powerful and cerebral. perception altering, high clarity etc. there are green, never stop to flower, phenos with crazy octopus structure...

but in this case it got frame from black cuban haze/A5mirakelthai. so it is easier to grow indoors, and black cuban haze/A5mirakelthai gave it some bottom and density, and clarity is not so high like at vietnamese. I selected only late flowering phenos of males to be sure haze/vietnamese influence will be strong.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Usually south asian haze are as you said very uplifting and giggly, with a sense of cerebral focus. What are the colors of the hairs? Leaning towards red? For me thai (the old school during the time where GI’s would bring seed back home), is a bit more psychedelic. How is the taste of the Viet, I suppose very spicy with hints of chocolate? As for the black cuban, is it similar to the other blacks, such as Columbian black? Is the Cuban mixed with any Gold varieties? Now days it is super difficult to find real 100% sativas I think?

Also, you seem to have massive knowledge for creating seeds…was wondering if you ever turned a female into male and pollinated it with other females? I did it and my result was a small amount of immature or nonviable seeds, with a 20-30% amount of viable seeds. Also its been years, that I would like to experience with Persian genetics (I believe Indicas from Iran have huge potential and are untapped), any suggestion and advice for creating interesting hybrids?

yes, there is hint of chocolate, and spicy, plus sour mango and citric ginger. delicious.

origin of black cuban haze is unknow, it is cut, not seed line, but it contains some indica for sure. it is not wild or long flowering like colombian black. I crossed it with vietnamese to clear the effect up and get rid of narcotic feeling. it is super soaring, and euphoric, some long flowering phenos are pretty trippy, but denser than vietnamese. I hope these crosses will have super soaring phenos too.

last year I tried to reverse my toms haze keeper, but I sprayed it too much LOL and got no pollen, I will try again in future.

I dont know Iran genetics at all. so cant give you any advice.

I crossed vietnamese male with 100% sativa. but both BLUE STING and KONA UPRISE are not about it at all. they cant replace 100% sativa or something. they are hybrids. so it doesn't matter if there is indica from father side, as mother side also contain plenty of indica in it. they are sativa/indica hybrids for sure.

yes, I have project where I try to make hybrids which are really close to pure sativa effect, but it is different project that this. this is about to find some unusual new effect, not to simulate pure sativa effect. I hope I explained it clearly. if not, I apologize.

I suspect that a good percentage of people are not very acquainted with Persian or neighboring countries (Tajikistan & Uzbekistan for example)…I thought I could ask how you reverse or pollinate (do you use the classic silver nitrate spray?). And as I do not have the privilege to number of plants, how do you select a small sample population for reaching the pheno you look for (in your case you hunted for sativas that provided you with soaring effect, I am looking more into psychedelic effect obtained by specific indica phenos)

well man, my opinion is that subtropical cultivars will not have psychedelic effect like tropical ones. from my experience.

asian nevilles hoo hooo. it is not easy to grow, but it is worthy. there are long flowering ones, which cant disappoint with power. it is not like with pure sativas, that you grow it for 18 weeks and get some mild weed. AN packs power. but not everybody can afford to grow something 18 weeks. thats why I crossed cbh/A5mirakelthai/black vietnamese to DF13 and Kona Gold, to take that flowering down. cbh/A5mirakelthai/VB is also very tasty on exhale, compared to thaihaze for example, the smoke really coats mouth and left some long lasting piney aftertaste.

it is proved that Kona Gold doesnt disturb haze influence much when outcrossed with haze, it is sativa dom smoke(one of the most tasty sativas I tried btw). and it is proved in this cross Kona Gold x thaihaze aka Tropical Boogie. this is very priced mango fuel pheno grown by @Jahaze

yes, Kona Gold gives it sexy tropical island look, she is island girl... I wish more people can try Kona genetics, as it is really special and different from popular varieties.

I expect that Kona Uprise will have bigger colas than tropical boogie... let see.

These went outside almost immediately, it's winter here and lows touch 30f degrees for a few hours but they handled it fine. The male shown here is stinky

in incense sticks(CBH/A5mirakel/VB) I got shorter flowering phenos, up to 13 weeks, and long flowering phenos 16 weeks or more. in those 13 weekers I found pineapple pheno, rotten flowers livers, mango chemicals or lemony gassy fuel... all were quite stinky.

longer ones were not stinky, mostly piney, some piney/mango. floral and classic soapy livery leather frankies with gassy tones.

main motivation to make Blue Sting were fuely or chemical terps... mother of blue sting is blue fuel/chocolate one, I can smell fuel from her when I touch or manipulate with her in motherroom, so I hope there is some fuel in smell, at some phenos at least.

I think that some phenos can have some unique complex terp profile going on, when mixture of different elements, like blue chocolate from DF13, green sour mangoes from Vietnamese and piney gassy incense from NLhaze side, can get right proportions. in certain pheno. of course it is polyhybrid so it depends on concrete phenotype very much...
