Blue Dream(S) diary - the hunt for the ultimate BD

Blue Dream is one of my top 3 favorites.

Feel free to post any comments/pics Blue Dream related.

My end goal is to make my own version but first I am going to try a few different genetics to give me a baseline.
I am looking for a strong blueberry flavor with a hybrid, “Sativa” leaning feel. Most of the BD I have tried has mediocre blueberry flavor. I also want it to be more daytime feel with an energy lift and euphoria feeling.

First I am going to see what I can find that’s already out there.
The 2 plants on the left are Santa Cruz Goat Farm SC Blue Dream seed.

The 2 plants on the right are my accidental cross of Blue Dream (Blimburn) x Blueberry (Dutch Passion). I had a late flower blueberry herm from heat stress (guessing heat stress of course) and seeded a Blimburn Blue Dream in the same tent. Will I get hermie plants from these seeds? Maybe. We’ll see.

I will be starting a few different ones in a month when I return from a vacation trip.

The 4 in the top pic have all been topped, had some LST and some fan leaves taken to encourage the lowers to stretch out. These veg’d for 3-4 weeks and have 1 or so week flower time.

The difference between the 2 pairs is significant which would be expected with the Blueberry cross.

The bottom pictured plant is still vegging after a later start than the others. That one is DNA Genetics Blue Dream that will move to the flower tent in another week. Its appearance looks mostly hybrid, bushy with lots of branches.

At 5 weeks, none of these have been fed yet and probably wont be until I see some signs they are hungry. I have given them Recharge a couple times and will weekly until they are nearly done. The soil mix is HP Promix, a local brand potting soil, pearlite, composted cow manure and Buildasoil Craft Blend.

The white powder on top of the soil is diatomaceous earth mixed into the top layer. I do this for bugs and it provides some silica. I use wicking pots for watering. I saw an improvement in yield when I started using these mostly because I am bad at watering consistently otherwise.
