Blockhead F2's

These pictures are stunning savage. I've never seen anything like that first one in post #33. I have my freebies about 3 weeks into flowering right now. I was expecting them to be runts but they're quite vigorous. Unfortunately 4/5 germed and all were female. But I'm going to do some celestial temple x blockhead and deep chunk x blockhead. If mine look half as good as yours I'll be happy. I wish they could handle the humidity of my outdoor grow but unfortunately they'll have to be run in my partners indoor setup. I just consider myself lucky to be able to work with them.

Mine are 3 1/2 weeks into flowering and they have the oddest smell. Do they keep this smell or change a lot. There's heavy berry overtones but I wouldn't call the smell sweet. Its very funky with like a herbal leatherish smell. Like I said its still early but I've never smelled anything quite like this. Two of them are tall and two are short. One of the short ones I'm sure is gonna be a crazy yielder. I have some deep chunk pollen and I want to pollinate one right now. What traits do you guys suggest to look for in the really good phenos if I was to take s stab at lightly pollinating a couple branches of one before they're proven.

Ok 3 out of the 4 have taken on more of a lime flavored starburst odor with AMAZING resin production. We've been feeding these biobizz bloom topmax, and botanicare sweet (I was quite skeptical but my partner bought it an sweet works very well.) I'm amazed that I got these as freebies and 4/5 germinated with no runts though I wish I got a male. So I lightly pollinated two of the plants early in flowering with deep chunk pollen and plan on selecting a couple males to bx to the other two blockhead females (is that a bx?) anyways this strain is a total winner. The sour diesel, sweet tooth, c99 etc doesn't compare for resin production. After I do the 2nd bx I plan on crossing it to a congolese sativa to bring out some of its african background. Though I have yet to smoke it I believe it is probably the best thing breeder steve ever did. I'm baffled as to why he discontinued it. I'm hoping it will become my favorite commercially available hybrid.

limey colored bracts- citrus smell with some terpentine/fuel undertones , could be a bit sour , i experienced two bract types in BH , both very dense packed but differing in size , the smaller bract phenos exhibit more leaf resination the bigger bract pheno carries all on the nugs and only a bit on the surrounding leafes .. - go for the bigger bract pheno ...
both pix were taken @ ~ 35
small bracts

bigger bracts

PS: the now available versions of BH , got a new parental (father) incross , its a Swt#3 as i know so the result from the "old" lines will differ

Nice buds all. Zamalito, at what rate do you use the botanicare sweet product? I just got some awhile ago and im using 10-15ml/Gal in mid-late flowering.

Hey CK, BH is the densest thing I've grown to date, it's one of it's best qualities and where the name Blockhead comes from I'm sure.

Greetz all, I've made some F2 beans from a pack of SOL Blockhead seeds I purchased from Gypsy. I haven't grown any out yet, but I do have plans for them and thought I'd share some shots of em with you :) Two moms were used and one was this red/blue ST pheno..

Hope people aren't sick of these pics by now...

Here's a pic of one of the F2s I made at 40 days 12-12. This plant was only vegged for a handful of days prior to being put in 12-12, also, the temps in this grow have been very high.

thanks SS, wow 90+, your's looked hella good for those kinda temps.

Actualy that pic is from a friend who's growing some from the F2s I sent him, I don't mean to take credit for the pic.

I just wanted to show all you guys making the F2s what the results can look like as I haven't seen any pics of BH F2 plants yet. The pics/reports from the ones I sent out are just starting to come back to me and it looks like they turned out well.

Have you popped any of yours yet SS? I have 10 going right now myself, 5 from one pheno, 5 from the other. Trying to figure out which was the best mum.

She was tha only female in 5 seeds . A BlueBerry sativa pheno . Tha male was a thick stemmed ,aromatic ,fast growin thang . These seeds will be germed in several weeks to search threw all tha phenos that make up blockhead . A lotta work will be dedicated to this project as I have scheduled plenty of time and space to properly work on it . It wont be just a simple cross of two good lookin plants to make a grip of f3's if you will , but an on going stabilizing project .
Good to see ya again Somoz , thanx fer droppin by
nice seeds there ss. :lurk:

BC , I have started 50 in round #1 and 30 in round #2 . 100% germ in tha first round and lost 2 in tha second , so yeah very good germ ratio from these big ass beans .
Optimus , my BH drys so that when tha outside of tha nug is broken , glands shatter everywhere , breaking off like glass ; but digging deeper into tha bud , if using your fingers , will get quite sticky , but in a dryer sense .
That seed harvest had about 130 . I have germed just under 80 and watching close and documenting .

Thanks for tha interest people , as things are just starting to heat up and get real exciting . Here's acoupla ripening shots from last cycle .
