Thanks for the pics krome .... and to see that you're using 3gal containers of promix/perlite (edit), simply hand~watering them lovingly in with catch trays . You also use FN nutes and was wondering the strength and frequency . Like Nep, have found "FN grow" has a little too much nitrogen it seems , even in veg . So have been trying 50/50 FN V&B together for veg myself .

* All tips appreciated , that room looks gorgeous .

Hey Terran2, glad to see the edit, it's PROMIX/FLORANOVA. That's the combo that's been working so well, and I'm sticking to it. Just bought some more FN yesterday, even though I've still got all of the Fox Farm stuff left over. FloraNova is just too easy and I believe the results speak for themselves. With the new and improved promix program, I've been feeding with greater frequency than before and having better results. When clones are first put in, I start them out lower like 1.0-1.2 EC with the FN grow. Just enough to let em catch and spread their feet a little. Once I know they're established and starting to grow I let em have it: 1.4-1.6 EC. I like to keep my EC around 1.6-1.8 when the plants are fully developed and pumping. The plants in the pics you see above are being fed 2.0 EC of FN bloom and they're loving it. I'm just trying to pump em full and when they show signs of overferting (which they haven't yet), I'll give em a flush. So far, I only flushed as they went into 12/12. The more frequent feedings has produced more lush, full budsets from earlier on. From here on out, I feed, feed, feed, and only flush if the girls are crying for it. I add molasses and some guanos at different times during the harvest to supplement a little bit. I asked Neptune the same thing and he told me about the curling leafs in veg. To be honest I never noticed it, but sure enough, some of my plants in veg have a slight leaf curl. Too much N? Possibly, but it doesn't look like it's hurting things too much. I'll still be using the grow and bloom in their respective time frames. Hope this helps, I think I went off in different tangents but I think that answers your question.

Re:pro-Mix

tx Krome for the reply & the pro-mix approach...

Have to admit after switching over to Coco have been playing with several different perlite to coco ratios and trying to dial in the watering /nute schedules but all that mixing is getting a "wee bit" old in the tooth . Some of the local "BOGs" up here pointed out the Sunshine Mix #4 to me saying its all you need in one ready mix. Was actually was going to buy some at the little local supply store to try out but someone had come buy and took all they had , lol....( so must be good )

Thanks for the details on nute strengths & flushes , all sounds reasonably "copesctetic" mon and switching over to this or the Sunshine mix will save alot of back-work mixing in the tub too ! ;o)

About the only follow-up question could ask after looking over Premier Horticulture's site is which mix of theirs are you using ? Looks like they've really honed in these mixes & dialed it in nicely (with added mychorise0
http://www.premierhort.com/eProMix/...wingMediumTM/ProMixBX/BXRegular/fProMixBX.htm
They have a wide selection , is it the BX "general purpose" you have ?

( Then to see who locally carries it up here in Nor Cal or see if i can lite a "warm fire" under them to get them to order some ! )

tx again krome ...the idea of not having to mix & mix again is music to my ears (and back) plus it looks to be a pretty good savings $$ over Coco .

cheers

;o)

I used the Promix HP with myco (White Bag) and had terrible results. The bag I used was premixed with fertilizer and promply burned the shit out of the plants I stuck in it. I didn't know it was premixed, so kept fertilizing to try and fix what I thought to be underfed plants.. long story short it basically ruined a small crop of mine, somewhere in my photologs I got into details.

The reason I use coco/PBP is my organic tooth. This is about as close to organic as you can get while still using pumps, hoses, dripper lines, and recirculating hydroponics. I really like that coco can be recycled,(I am working on this for the next crop), and actually no perlite is needed to grow in coco. Many growers have found it is not necessary. Promix should not be recycled, from what I have read(??) due to the nature of Peat breakdown being highly acidic. I also don't like that Peat is an endangered resource, so have tried to cut that out of my diet along with Jersery Green Sand etc.

Sorry about the tangent, but this is good discussion ;) I have only seen great results from both promix and sunshine mixes, and they are "open and use" products. Ready to grow, ez123 etc. But with a little infastructure (a garden hose) coco coir can be equally plug and play, and reusable without the back breaking work of sifting the fibers, Terran ;) Gaiusmarius just rips out the main rootball, and drops in another plant in the old one's place. Cleaning nothing, continuing to grow.. and I daresay the man has some serious results. Striving to get to his shoulder height myself..

off to a great start there krome, everything looking properly BIG.

Terran2, Everything you see growing there is using the Promix HP. The one Neptune said he had probs with. I've never had problems with either the HP or BX. The only difference I've seen is that the HP has much more perlite added to it so it's almost ready to go. Depending on how airy you want it, you can add more perlite to your desired amount, I usually do. The BX just needs a lot more perlite added to keep it light and draining properly. Neptune's got it right though, I NEVER reuse my promix. I just end up dumping it in the back yard and use it for the veggie gardens with a little bit of fresh soil added of course. The promix can be back breaking work as well. The hardest part is usually busting the bail all up. Besides that though, it's pretty much ready to rock. When I put my plants down, the water used is already put to 1.4 EC with the floranova. My plants just seem to explode with growth this way. It's taken some tinkering, but I've finally gotten everything down in the proper ratio's that work for me. It may take a couple of runs to get the mix how you want it, but I swear by it. It's my preferred method and I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with it for a while.

Neptune, thanks bro. I never intended for these to get so monster on me though. I had a timer malfunction and they ended up vegging for an extra 2 weeks. I think it may be a blessing in disguise though, cause it looks like it's gearing up to be the best ever. Hope you're doing well bro. You've got me hooked. I only wish I kept more GDP for myself last time. It's cool though cause I've got some gearing up to go into the next rotation.

Right on Krome, they are going to be big for sure... that blockhead of yours is turning heads in my circle. First good lemon tasting herb people have seen around here, and very dense which of course most prefer... Wish I had more of thatone myself!! only had 3 in the last crop! And the "compost mothers" are reveging right now, grrr... so it'll be a bit before they are back to health to make more mothers out of. Friends of mine are getting the 1.5-2.0oz per plant with the GDP and only 14 days veg, so keep on workin' her. Sofar I am around 1.0-1.25. she likes it warm, and toping is good. warm temps really get her moving.

re: promix
if it ain't broke....keep truckin' ;p

I'm going to try a few new mixes next round, Botanicare readygrow airation mix, and perhaps another promix attempt. Also thinking about another Breakdown, lots of fresh ideas in the noggin'

What up fellas.

Neptune,

re: promix
if it ain't broke....keep truckin' ;p

My thoughts exactly my friend. It won't be long before you see some GDP in the rotation again. I've got a few in veg right now and they were topped a couple of days ago. They'll probably end up getting a 3 week veg or so. Maybe longer, we'll see. The testers definitely got some rave reviews with some friends. These will be much better as they won't be to the outskirts of the garden. Purple zombies are everywhere!!!

mschwede, thanks a lot man. Stick around for the ride.

You like them stalks there OFR? That's what a two week over-veg will get ya. Those other ones I told you about with the 17 day veg are starting to surprise the shit out of me though. They look like they'll pull through after all. I'll try to get some pics up if I can.

GDH, sour bub is some killer. You'll be stoked on that for sure. All the info you need is promix and flora nova. lol. Just kidding. But on a serious note though, I know you said the Depot is all you've got for the most part. I've got some plants that are running in Lambert's potting soil with perlite and myco added. My own version of promix cause the place was closed on sunday. I hit the depot and grabbed that big bag of perlite we were talking about, and made a nice batch of soil to work with. Made sure it was plenty airy and boom, it's on like donkey kong. Pretty much the same thing if you can't get your hands on promix at any costs. If there's a way to get the promix, do it. Simple as that. And even if you don't use flora nova, any complete nute program used properly will produce amazing results. Let me know if you ever have any questions.

I'll get some more pics up in a few days when I get a chance. I'm out.

awwww...Think I'll hit some Kromie Bubble as well...man I need to pick your brain on your bubble method..awesome to say the least...I think you and OFR are close to your methods as mine just doesnt come out the same..you hand mix?I'll go the promix route after this run in the stadium...I already have the coco chips underway...but I still hear what you told me in my head...you are right but being Bi-polar I get bored quick,,,need to stay with what works...again thanks for the meet..I hope to do it again..maybe 2 weeks??This time solo..

Sour Swamp. I like that. Just a little update. We're on day 27 as of now and all is good in the hood. Going for about one more week of just flora nova and then start adding the koolbloom around day 35 or so. I did just add a little bit of sucanat(organic sugar cane) to the water for the last feeding.
