It is what it is, CA has had a long run of a great gray market. Unfortunately most other states shut the little guys out so meh....happy we don't get busted over small amounts anymore, but I never really worried about that before so the point is moot. I think the issue could be better handled on a national level, but thats because my experience is based on the fairly regulated market we have in CO.
Edit: what I'm trying to bitch about is that even in a bunch of legal places it isnt really possible to earn a living with weed, some states have made it possible (or at least it appears that way looking in), but maybe national legislation would swing more towards how the less regulated places work. That's a small longshot.

it only makes sense, if a farmer can grow 700 acres of tobacco, selectively hybridize to their heart's content... now that cannabis is in the forefront of most of the public's attention and not a niche issue, i believe it is a matter of time before personal cultivation is as legal as any other crop.
the market (not the personal right to cultivate food/ medicine) ought to be the thing regulated (no more overreach of the commerce clause to prohibit access and personal consumption or production, like beer and wine brewing for instance). i see it as a common sense thing, only we need a few more old farts to retire from senate to get there.

tobacco USED to be allowed to grow only if you had a govt allotment (or leased someone elses ), a weight that was the maximum that you were able to sell. that probably would not come into play if you were just breeding for certain traits and saving the seed versus marketing the tobacco when cured. if you plan to sell weed you grow, probably ought to be ready to buy a business license & tax stamp...giving it away/trading it ought to be safe. i like the homemade beer & wine policy for weed.

Cheating in regards to elections is a serious matter.
I know you have out of hand dismissed the rampant statistical anomalies, videos and affidavits that corroborate claims of election fraud...
If the claims of cheating were true... would You want the perpe-traitors punished or not?
I would guess you would prefer Biden be installed as president whether or not he cheated to win.
Which is in my opinion a gross and immoral position to take.

Police reports obtained by Deadline Detroit reveal obscenity and computer crime charges filed against the 33-year-old Grosse Pointe Woods mother stem from a harassment campaign she waged against a 42-year-old woman in 2018 and 2019. Earlier Friday, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said Carone pleaded the initial charges down to disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
Her boyfriend's ex-wife, Jessica, called Southgate police about Carone multiple times between November 2018 and September 2019, initially after receiving three videos from an uknown email address showing Carone and her ex having sex. Carone's last name was then Wright.
Police traced the IP address from the emails to Carone, who initially denied sending them but revealed she was aware of their content. Eventually, she confessed to investigators, saying her goal was to send Jessica “over the top.” She admitted to also asking her boyfriend to cover her tracks by getting a new router and internet provider.
Carone served a one-year probation sentence, which ended shortly before she was contracted by Dominion Voting Systems to perform IT work during the November election, a job that would take her to the TCF Center, where she's baselessly claimed she witnessed rampant fraud. She went viral this week with bogus testimony from two state Legislative hearings."
I do sort of agree, that is certainly the benefit i get now and its great. However, not everyone wants to grow their own weed. Same as not everyone wants to grow their own heirloom tomatoes. Giving it away is great, but at some juncture you need to be compensated for lights/trimming/time etc. Some want weed that is fresher than the single crop a year that can be grown for free.
Essentially there are quite a few people that like to enjoy the fruits of labor without doing that labor themselves. I would like a system that allows independent operators to do that labor and get paid without having to go work for minimum wage from any of the shit grow ops we have. You can't really show up with your fine organic nugs and sell them like you could some fine organic produce at the local farmers market. Its a long shot, but I think that should change and national legislation is the only way that can be achieved. Licensing costs need to come down for what I want to work, you have to go big or go home currently in order to cover start up costs, and I would like to allow things that are small to have a chance.
