Visiting relatives for the holidays, I got to see heavy early-voting turnout in a conservative GA county this past week. Lots of old people, people without masks, people who cut their own hair...standing in the drizzling rain, waiting to vote.
Lots of motivated white folks in semi rural Georgia. I’ll bet most of them will vote against the “radical socialists”. At the same time, I’m told this same district had a lower turnout for Trump than in ‘16, and that nice white people are getting in trouble for protesting, and that ‘20 fundraising for trump was HALF of what he raised here in ‘16.
Add to that the fact that, as someone observed recently, *land* doesn’t vote: *people* do. This is a conservative area, has always been since Roosevelt, probably, but there are comparatively few people here. And even today, Trump has tweeted shit about the runoff. All those voters I saw tells me nothing about how many voters are sick of it all and just sitting it out.
I wonder who among us wishes it were the other way around - that *land* had the vote, and not *people*? In the early days, the vote was restricted to those who owned land: that’s always been a dependable way of telling the masters from the servants, and we once-Britishers brought it with us when we came here. It would certainly qualify as a ‘traditional American value’.
By the time Andy Jackson left office, though, we’d changed our minds, state by state. PEOPLE get to vote now, the same way PEOPLE elect senators now, and not legislatures.

Land owners generally care more about the country the land is in.
Would it not be interesting for any members of congress who challenge the electors' decision/vote of Joe Biden, to be arrested thereafter by the Capitol Police and turned over to waiting FBI agents? A perp walk supreme.
Yep, not all republicans are trash. I understand why many left but they should stay. Once there all gone who's left with any ethics.
The maga description/ definition seems accurate to me, I would be interested in how others define maga differently if that is the case.
