i dont know if this blackberry is really somablaze's but it looks black enough for me to try it :) there seems to be only one person thats grown somablaze's blackberry and that seems to be nebu., which for all i know how defensive he gets when it comes to this, he might have just photoshopped his pictures and airbrushed some purple here and there, or it actually looks like he took some of his pictures under black light...

to be frank i dont trust orgnkid nor nebu, but at least orgnkid has the beans to back it up, cant just miss the opportunity...

i hope no one takes offense to this post

it would help if someone added CaliKushSeeds to the strainguide up on Overgrow and people making grow reports for it, they should do the same for Classic Clone Company - 2 seed companies with the same goal - to make clone only strains available

it'd be fun to see which bubba kush gets better reviews, or just to see if either or both of them are legitimate, etc. i think this would actually solve the problem and heated arguments here on their legitimacy...

First time reading a orgnkid post .. for as much credit as he gets for bringing strains to the masses seems like he was your avg hobby grower he even says it in the quote in his first post

Thats inspiring to me on a level bc we usually expect these people to have some grand wizard knowledge we dont have and seems the opposite in this case .. but it would make sense why there is little info on his lines seems like he barley knew but knew what was fire

With all due respect to every independent grower and breeder this sort of thing makes sense when people are in hiding with cannabis. Now that we have legal mega grows the hobby breeder is kind of overshadowed. Even though the reality is that much of the cannabis grown has come from and still comes from similar breeders. I'll save my soapbox rant this morning but to my eye it would be a majority of seed producers (over 50%) mixing and matching whatever they have in a fairly lazy or discoordinated fashion.

Some of the newcomers don't seem to fit a category, e.g. niche polyhybrid brands whose genetics all include the word cake. It might be that the strain or strains are good but concealment of traditional breeding terms and/or the marketing style of re-naming everything turns me off to such brands. In other words I am sorry but I do not want to try something called tropicana cookies or gmo or tropsanto or any of that other garbage because of your marketing campaign. Unfortunately for you I don't really care whether the cannabis is an enjoyable strain the marketing completely ruins it. The breeder/marketer has chosen not to share details, and instead market heavily, so it's a fail/no go for me.

Think of a promotional event where only a limited quantity of seeds are "sold out" at a higher than normal price after waiting in line <-- this is little more than a gimmick or marketing ploy to me. I would rather pay 100% cash to a reputable breeder who created the seeds and does not advertise or spend their money or time setting up sales gimmicks. There is a large difference there, just by advertising you are revealing your price markup which is ok but only for a certain audience IMO.

Sometimes I think it's best to hold my tongue because there is no way I'd pay for 90%+ of "elite genetics" from marketing personalities or advertised brands. I'd take a bet on standard reputable seeds any day of the week compared to paying 4-5x as much for seeds or clones from a brand with more hype. That is my choice, my right, my opinion. With that said I understand everyone is looking to make money, I don't want to name names or pick specifics.

This might sound like an opinion or me being harsh, it isn't really my place to judge breeders, but it is easy to see quickly who all is making name crosses without a clue what they are doing or who is simply chasing their favourite bud without much knowledge of standard cultivation and breeding. It is ok to watch, but also silly and embarrassing for someone who takes pride in what they do. Not my place to be a naysayer but chock full of amateurs, who also expect to earn a salary from what they are doing. Which is far from what I would call breeding, pollen chucking or making/selling seeds is more accurate.

To just relax and admit the standards on cannabis breeding aren't all that strict is also important. Many people do not care about rules or even cost as long as they can afford it. Each person or breeder, however unique, might have developed quite an impressive strain or grow on their own. So if cake or melon is an awesome strain for example, it isn't all that important how the destination was reached. With or without any advertising the product should speak for itself.
