I saw Sabbath in like '78 or maybe it was '79 in New Haven CT while Ozzie was in his prime. That show rocked and Van Halen was the warm up band on their first tour! We we're in like the 10th row.

Heaven and Hell. Sabbath booted Ozzie before they did the southeast leg of the tour. Ronnie James Dio was pretty good but he ain't Ozzie. Red Rocker opened, would have much rather seen Van Halen.

I saw them in Houston in 1978(first concert). Van Halen was the opening act and kicked serious ass. Sabbath opened with Iron man. Ozzie was so hammered when he came up on stage. I bet a pound of joints flew his way while he was on stage. This guy sitting next to us had a cowboy hat on and about 50 joints rolled and stuck in a band that wrapped the outside of the hat. People were throwing 100 packs of fireworks from the upper balconey. Freaking dopers laid out in the bathrooms. People getting stabbed. Chicks peeing in the guys restroom in the sink. Man I miss those kind of concerts. Something like that happening now would bring the riot police. We got so stoned that night.

Yeah I remember a few kind of like that. At once concert when we were clearing out there was a guy passed out in his chair with his schlong hanging out of his pants.

Looks like I win the "who saw them first" contest. I saw Sabbath in 1975 at the Chicago Amphitheatre, my very first concert. About all I remember was they were great, they were LOUD, and we had about the worst seats in the house. I had that concert t-shirt for probably 20 years before it finally dissolved. I still love Sabbath and hope they make it to the states. Who knows, maybe they could end up being my last concert. Also looking forward to the new album.

I bet the ticket was $5. My first show was $6.50. After a year or three it jumped to $10, then $12. By the time Springsteen rolled around in '85, we cursed $15 a pop, lol.

I'm a huge ozzy fan but last years show was just terrible.
His voice is no more.
he was a big fat fucker out of shape and could barely sing. shuffling around like a senior citizen

He needs a teleprompter to remember the songs he's been rehearsing for 40 years.

It was just really embarassing.

saw Dio with heaven and hell before he passed two years ago and that night was kick ass.

There's an old 60s British TV video of Black Sabbath playing Paranoid. Ozzie wore a wizard robe, dark socks, platform shoes (and no pants.:D) He claps in-time with the instrumental and looks like a throwback to gay Neanderthal.

Black Sabbath

August 30, 1975. Sacramento Community Center. My first concert.

Ruby Starr and Grey Ghost opened, Mahogony Rush followed. Frank Marino doing the Star Spangled Banner with the strobelite going. It twas the 70's.

Sabbath, my religion at the time, opened with "Symptom of The Universe" and then "Hole in the Sky" followed by "Snowblind".

During Iommi's solo in "Snowblind" someone threw a frisbee from the back of the auditorium. It was about afoot above the crowd and it made it all the way to the stage where Ozzy actually caught it. He then threw it back. It flew as if a ten year old right-handeded girl had thrown it left handed. Then he gave his impish grin with a shrug of the shoulders.

Meanwhile, Iommi is kicking over his monitors. Somethings wrong.

War Pigs is supposed to be next, but would never be. We wait and wait. Finally someone comes on stage and says "we are having some problems, but we will stay all night to get it fixed" eveyone cheers.

A few minutes later the same guy comes on and says the show is cancelled.

People goes nuts. A "old guy" (probably 30 years old) next to me is having a meltdown. He is screaming NOOOOO as he windmills a pint bottle of wiskey with his right arm. he finally lets it go towards the stage. Cops are getting pelted with everything. People are pulling change out of their pockets and throwing them at the cops, who are back against a wall.

Someone comes back on stage and says they will give full refunds, people are looking around for stubs. I head for the ticket box by the turnstiles. The wooden boxes have already been broken and a dogpile is on. I manage to stick my arm in to the mass of humanity and grab a handfull of stubs. I barely get my arm back ( I was sporting 4 1/2 inch biceps at the time), as the bodies are stacking and the crush is on.

I opened my first bank account the next day, with the $5 I got for each stub. They were only letting you cash 4 stubs max. So I got help from anyone in line who was cashing less than 4, until all mine were refunded.

Saw them in 78, at The Cow Palace.
Van Halen stole the show.

Saw Sabbath in 2005, they opened with N.I.B. and they blew my mind. I was laughing throughout the first three songs as it really was amazing how great they were.

War Pigs rocks and Van Halen almost stole the show that I saw! A friend had a group recently and were pretty frikkin tight and I always requested War Pigs. They did some killer Floyd also!

Sabbath and Ozzy solo music is some of my favorite music from back in the day. Saw Sabbath on the Born Again tour with Ian Gillan on vocals in like 83. Saw Ozzy solo around the same time in the McMorran arena in Port Huron, MI (holds less than 5,00 people). Saw Ozzy 2 or 3 other times as well. Glad the group is speaking to each other. I hope the tour rocks.

I love the Old Days.Weed had this taste and flavor that can never be duplicated, and to me,it was always Hashy n Spicey.Expando and just all around Old Schooly Goodness.Even the Imported Reg Bud was very tastey n nice. And you add that, with the old Red Bud or Columb Gold and some Black Sabbath and you were going to have a great ass day of .Heaven and Hell just brings back soooo many great memories and its just kind of a blast from the past with a sensory overload of a mindful of great thoughts when times were simpler and more honest and just all around fun.Music wasnt all swear words and threats of crazy stuff to bring you down ,but it sticks withya, the words and it makes ya feel really good.I like the words, from some Old Sabbath.Cant wait to hear any news from anyone goin to see them these Days, they will stil rock it.
