BLACK DOMINA

heres my BD.. been running it for like 3 years now.it was crossed with a heavily couchlocking hawaiian my buddy had..its always devestating..mine stinks up the whole house when its drying, but while growing theres not alot of odor unless you move a branch.. then the odor explodes.

sadly, i lost the clone last month, and my buddy who crossed it is now dead, so once i harvest my last 3 in 2 weeks.. no more BD for me for awhile..

Yes. I'll search if there are any pics. Outdoor yielded very well!

Smoking some domina buds i totaly forgot about now. It looks i am not moving anywhere in the near future. Even mouse seems far.

what was the harvest date?

"more recently i have read a number of post's, stating that B.D. is not the kick-ass strain that it wss a few years ago, and that it mite take a few packs before finding a keeper."

Why do you say this? I don't see why Black Domina would be any different than it was.
I have heard people say this about other strains before too. Do breeders use different parents overtime.

different years produce different phenos sometimes in regards to major seed companys, take SSH circa 98 compared to the haze thats around now, two different plants. also look at all the different blueberries that have been given the name blueberry. different strokes for different fokes as far as keeping an operation toghether through the years, hopes this helps. thoughs finished BD pics look nice man.

Yes breeders are known to add other things into a plants lineage, either to stave off inbreeding depression or to try and work the strain further. Unfortunately they dont usually publicize such moves and its left to buyers to find out the hard way

hey NOKUY,

i did BD back in '03 - only sprouted 7 beans though, with 2 females

^ chopped that one @ 60 days - nice thick and branchy indica ... imo vigorous grower - the stretch in flower was double - yielded fairly large - smelled peppery, spicy, musky, potent, pungent - straight up knock you outter.....in my opinion

^ this one could of went maybe 70 days or plus....but I took her @ 60 days as well....way more trichome coverage then the previoius one....this one was a bit more sativa and the stretch in flower was more then double....but didn't stretch enough to triple in size....I don't think I got to taste her true potential.....same scents as the previous one but much more fuely smelling

i got this lineage info from the "Sensi Seeds" catalog description {Afghani, Ortega 6 & Hash Plant }
- but here's a thread of interest - http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=15048

hey guys so a couple questions... whats the average cloning time of bd (not hydro/aero)? and also, how does bd compare with deep chunk and g13 crosses (yes im aware g13 is part of BD but then I wonder why g13 crosses fetch more $$ than BD seeds)

I can't say how it compares cause I've never had any of them, but I know my two *fem* phenos so far are a bitch to get roots everything else was 2 weeks or less till BD took @ 3

Shit, 3 weeks?? I allready flowered the mother, will it be safe to potentially bring her out of flower to take clones again if the clone fails after 3 weeks?

It's actually better to let her do her thing, but at harvest leave enough veg material on her so you can reveg her and take clones

Holy shit guys I was just watering my BD pheno #2, shes a bit over 3 weeks old, and I did a freakin double take- 2 of her four branches have spontaneously become trifoliates!! They werent trifoliates at first (their first nodes have 2 leaves), but they've somehow developped into trifoliates at this point. I checked thoroughly, its not an illusion, there are in fact 3 leaves per node on those branches now. The main stalk is a normal bifoliate, as is the remaining two branches. Has anyone seen a plant just spontaneously go trifoliate? Also in my excitement I figured i HAD to clone the trifoliate branches, but I guess I should ask first (though ive allready topped the plant, and I was planning on cloning from the top). Is it better for me to clone the trifoliate branch, or should I clone one of the normal branches? I really want to clone the trifoliate and see what it can do, whether it really gives more yeild or something. Other than that, very healthy plant. Shes almost at the same stage at week 3 as pheno #1 was at week 4, so this might be my keeper after all, though Ill wait to sample the buds before picking 1 as my clone mother.

Whoa, I saw your other post about your trifoliate plant. Didn't realize it was the big, bad BD. Man I love the name Black Domina. I really want some! I'd definitely clone this bad girl too ;) I'd clone one of the trifoliate branches. More leaf to help the clone get going, and it'll be fun too. heh.

ok ill definately clone the trifoliate branch after she gets another node completed. Cant wait to get her into flower and sample the finished product!! Shit in fact i just rechecked all the other branches, its too early to tell but it looks like with the exception of the main stalk, the remaining two branches will also become trifoliates. This plant is gonna be a fantastic yeilder theoretically, shes got a vigorous fast growing main stalk, and the two branches that come from each node becomes 2 sets of trifoliates, per node... this is why i love growing from seed, you get these pleasent unexpected surprises ;)

Shit, this sounds like it could be an ideal girl for my purposes - what between the potent high & low odor descriptions in the thread - and yield, eh, not so big a deal for me if the potency's there.

I'd kinda like to hear more tho about A) stability, cuz it seems like there's a lotta variability between seed grown phenos, and by extension B) possible explanations for the range of yields described here that *aren't* due to genetics. What's the lowest common denominator I wonder for those of ya that are geting the big dense buds? Nutes? Pruning? Veg time? I was all stoked for some Bogglegum since it seemed to have the ideal traits of minimal growstink, high potency, and big yield... but with real BOGseed not around anymore the BD seems worth checking out.

you want the more indica pheno and a well dialed in grow room.

if we started out with the same clone but your room had high temps, improper ventilation, and little lights you wouldn't yield as much as me when i have the perfect setup.....thats the difference.....same goes for any strain.
