doesnt light from hps only travel 2 ft into the canopy?, what good would a 5ft plant do then? do some extreme lst, create some sort of canopy, more lumens recieved by the bud sites the better the closer a plant is the more lumens it gets

I"m working on something similar guys. 6 plants in 5 gallon buckets dwc style. Seperate res with chiller. I'm going for some 4-5 foot tall plants(if possible). A questions I have is are two 600 hps mounted vertically like in the diagram mentioned above... are they enough? How far will the light pentrate into these plants? Do I need to supplement them with a couple 600's up top? I'd go 1000's up top but that will max out my electrical system (two circuits worth the juice, 40 amps at 115v). All lights are air cooled (via 8" vortex 747 cfm) and I will have a 10000 btu portable ac unit.

I pulled 8 oz off one plant previously. It was a monster super silver haze that was about 3-3 1/2 feet tall and super bushy. The buds were light and not very dense except at the top part but hey, it was 8 z's.

Not to jack the thread, but it looks like we're doing the same thing.

First off do a hydro system. Don't know what it's called now but saw along time ago people getting pounds per plant on a hydro system the filled 5 gal buckets with dense foam made out of hydro nute water. Krusty Buckets?

They used no fans just AC and grew tree style. Plants were about 5ft each and had about one 1000w per plant hanging vert. They got it dialed in very well and got up to 5 pounds per plant with the right clone. But that was extream.

For you i'd say cover the walls in mylar, use as much wattage as you can afford and mix HPS and MH for flower.

use FOX FARM hydro nutes. Organic and it's still hydro!! works well. Look for a strain like chronic or another well established "high yielder". To be more realistic i'd say with mixed spectrum and 1000w per plant you could get a pound per plant.

Are you in Oregon? If so, you are allowed 6 mature plants (anything exceeding 12" tall or wide, or showing sex) AND 18 immature plants (under 12"x12", and with no flowers) per patient. Also, you are allowed 24 ounces of dried/usable meds.
