Getting the next round ready to flower, only cuttings this time. No plants were topped, training only. 3.5 gal organic mix under 1000w hps
a) Big Island indica - got this strain from a grower in Hawaii around '91
b) blueberryXhaze mother "1" - BCSC strain "Blaze"
c) blueberryXhaze mother "4" - same
d) and e) ?mystery? plants - Back in August went to friend of friends house. He had 2 6 foot tall females in his back yard, about 3 weeks into flower. FOF got the seeds from another friend of his who had bought them in Vancouver. Needless to say, I didn't find out what they were. Took 2 cuttings off each one. Put them in a little bubbler I built just for them and gave them some time. Took a while since they were in flower and had to re-veg, but about 3 weeks later all 4 rooted! So this round, I have one cutting taken off of each. From what I heard, the plants in FOF's garden didn't make it; we had some early rains that took them out. So I don't know what to expect. Smelling kinda skunky (even though they were in early flower the moms had some stank!) Leaves have a little girth, but internodes are pretty stretched; branchy. If anyone has any ideas of what they are, I'd love to hear them!

Kick back, relax and enjoy the show! :p

I've done some training of my plants in the past, but this is the first time so aggressively and I'm very happy with the results so far. Many potential budsites!

The Big Island indicas could veg longer, but the blueberryXhaze stretched like crazy last time so that's it. I'll stagger the cuttings next round to compensate.

And in the next room we have the moms where you'll notice a reveg doing its funky thing.

Thanks guys. The training is working well, I love those full figured ladies! The mystery plants in flower are cuttings I took off of the cuttings from August; I still have them going as mothers. Sorry my writing isn't clearer, must have been stoned! :p

Thanks Ezozo, yes it's time for an update. Although it's not much of one, as not much is going on. Plants are still filling in, not much stretch yet, should be soon. Just a few hairs here and there. Patience, patience.
And not to worry, any leaf damage that you see was caused by my messing with them and not by insects.

The Big Island indica have formed an even canopy.
BlueberryXhaze mother "1" She's the stretchy one of the two going.
BlueberryXhaze mother "4" They have a very yellow color at first, then they'll green up. Comes out strange under the hps.
?mystery? plant "e" Although she's not as big as her sister, she still looks nice.
?mystery? plant "d" I have a feeling this lady is going to be quite a handful; very vigorous!

It's been on the cold side in the room, in the 60's f. The plants are healthy, but growth seems like it's a little slower. Going to build a platform to get them off of the cement floor, hopefully that should help.

Flower Day 31

Hello friends, things are starting to get interesting in the garden so time for an update. Pretty smooth sailing so far, though a few did get just a little burnt on the last feeding. Otherwise everybody's happy.

Big Island indica - she's really starting to smell pretty rank, acrid turpentine/skunk odor.
BlueberryXhaze mother "1" - Got a while to go.
?mystery? plant "d" - This baby is making me smile. Big trichy nugs, and it looks like she's starting to show purple.

I hope the New Year finds everybody well!

Love,
Rolando

Been growing the Big Island indica for years, know it like the back of my hand. She'll go 8 weeks, dense, resinous, stinky buds. But I have to admit, I don't know the history of the strain. The guy I got the seeds from was an old school Kona grower, but he didn't tell me anything about them. So really, it could be a Dutch strain for all I know. But I highly doubt it, as he had been growing since the 70's and seemed pretty disconnected from the outside world. She has a "wild" feel to her, very true breeding, wouldn't be surprised if she came straight from Afghanistan.

That's what makes the weed in Hawaii so special (at least when I was living there.) Being a crossroads, there's an amazing variety to the local strains. Mostly sativas, but I saw just about every variation you can have in cannabis.

Here's a bud from the last round.
