in the pic above you can see the flex duct i use for the intake, its usually attached to that elbow but it came off when i pulled it up to show you, that way im not just pulling the warm air back in. i used fiberglass to secure it. not "show" quality but it serves its purpose :)

If all you're doing is exhausting your tent, you could use the shell of an old junked window banger. Block it up with plywood, cut your holes and you're done.

i have noticed when venting out of the house and your have forced air/heat pump etc, the fan clicks on and off a lot more then normal.

I ended up building my window frame out of 1inch foam insulation. It was a lot easier and cheaper for me to work with that rather than 2X4's and plywood.

It is held together with paperclip-pins, hot glue, and duct tape. :)

It extends out 4inches away from the window and it does not blow my blinds at all. When it is quiet the noise of the fan can be heard from outside but its not clear what the noise is. And I also live on a busy street so most of the time the noise of the fan is drown out by the constant traffic driving by.

Thanks for the help everyone!

So currently I have my single 6" exhaust fan sucking air through my carbon filter, then cooling my lights, and then being exhasted out of my window.

Would it be a better idea to buy another 6" fan so I can cool my lights with room air and then exhaust that out the window? Then I would have my other fan exhausting the scrubbed air out of the top of the tent into the room.

With that set-up I wouldn't be exhausting the scrubbed air directly out the window. And I would also get more airflow through my cool-tube which would probably cool the lights better.

i'm in a basement with no windows for AC to cool the room that the tent is in. I was thinking a portable AC that vented upstairs somehow. But that would stink up the rest of the house. Any ideas?
